Why can't they harvest stem cells into new skin grafts for them? Why do they still resort to flaying them alive using the skinning-a-chicken method?

There is a site called Body Modification Ezine (BMEzine) which is probably the biggest and most depraved site in the community that you can access without needing a VPN although you will need Jesus. Again, their baseline for "normal" is things we'd consider huge like tattoos and body or genital piercings. From there it goes all the way to shit like voluntary amputation, tooth filing, genital surgery (not SRS and I'm not going to create an account there just to find out what those terms mean). Again, the entire justification is simply "if you think you'll like it, do it".

I haven't checked BME in years but from memory, the genital surgeries are things penis bifurcation (splitting entirely) and subincisions (splitting halfway from the bottom, allegedly to expose more nerves) , a lot of things that resemble FGM like removing labia and clitoral hoods, silicone implants to create textures or shapes under the skin, and nullification. There are also "piercings" that are more along the lines of surgery because they're done with a scalpel, like transscrotals. People will pierce absolutely anything and they'll stretch anything they can pierce, but stretching takes a very long time so a lot of people will cheat by cutting out bigger holes right off the bat.

The procedures are either DIY or performed by unlicensed, self taught people who call themselves body mod artists rather than even trying to use the word surgeons, and are performed without anaesthetics. There have been several high profile cases in the community in the past few years of these artists being arrested after they botched procedures and their clients reported them, BSlice DotCom (Brendan Russell) in Australia and Dr. Evil (Brendan McCarthy) are the two that spring to mind but I'm sure there's another.

That the procedures were requested, paid for, and that the customers had signed consent forms was not considered to a legal defence. IIRC, it was not the customers who reported him or pressed charges, he was reported by randoms and the authorities chose to prosecute as a deterrent to others?

A cursory search of social media shows Mac is now spending his time racing hatchback cars (?) and hopes to continue running the tattoo convention he founded a few years back (Covid permitting, obvs).
I would imagine that anyone currently performing similar procedures in the U.K. has gone underground, much as how things were in the 80s and early 90s?

Skin is not just one type of cell, or even an aggregation of a dozen or so types of cells. A major constituent of skin is the extracellular matrix with its myriad signaling molecules that direct cells to growth and differentiate, and that matrix is hard to replicate with present tech.

He was allegedly ratted out by someone else in the industry, there were pics of leaked documents going around at the time that named the guy who reported him but that dude denied it and I don't know if it was ever proven one way or the other. There was definitely at least one dumbass customer who testified against him in court because he didn't know that getting his ear removed was illegal.

Him and BSlice both got sentenced within a pretty short space of time and other people doing similar things did pull back a bit but it's still nowhere near as secretive as you'd think.

From what I understand that kind of therapy is reserved for really fucked up people, like over half of their entire surface area is burned type patients. A normal person can be expected to recover from the size of skin grafts being used for phalloplasty.

The first link reminds me of that scene in Requiem For A Dream, where Jared Leto's character has a really infected sore on his arm and he is going to inject heroin into it, and the wayons brother in the movie is like "DON'T SHOOT IN THERE!" all disgusted. I think we've had one or two pictures of this person posted here – the fucked up "Y upside down" with pus on the lower pars of the upside down Y has been burned to my memory.

But those photos of inside (on the first link) are something else. Also what bothers me are his nails – so fucked up, like he went to one of the cheap nail salons and caught some nasty nail infection on them or something (that is my guess since on some of the photos it appears he has fake nails stuck on – though I am not sure on that; perhaps he's just a nail-biter?).

Yes, that's part of the reason I started the thread- we were talking about this needing to be a thing.

It was really the Kev posts that spurred me. He and Jazz have gotten such bad treatment. Whether you support this process or not, it's bad. And the peer pressure on people with serious problems to shut up about it is really obvious with Kevin in particular.

I'll either link images or spoiler them. This thread might get disgusting if you're brave, but if you're squeamish don't open spoilers.

edit: this thread is about the doctors and surgeries, complications and bad responses from both the medical and broader trans community to people with troubles. It's not meant to debate the need/use of the surgeries, or just to post cursed images.

just a reminder that this isn't the neovag disaster thread, it's about the butchers and the enforced code of silence within the community.

No matter how bad the results, the trans community will cover for these doctors. Usually you'd see something legal eventually pop up- the earlier posts about BME and people doing home cutting and body mods, it takes time but eventually something breaks.

With these guys it doesn't matter. Anyone with a bad result who would try to stop others from being wrecked, is going to get shamed and isolated by their own community for it. They're encouraged by others like them to keep their mouth shut if they're victims of malpractice or bad technique.
