State of Minnesota v. Nicholas Rekieta, Kayla Rekieta, April Imholte

Will Nicholas Rekieta take the plea deal offered to him?

Charges dropped against both the women is great PR for Rackets, and I have no doubt that is how his ballwashers will spin it. What a guy! Taking the fall for the ladies. After all, they were just stupid stupid women with no volition or sense of morality. They do what Rackets tells them, because they are just like little children.
Rackets will play up the honorable martyr bit. And Kayla, imo, deserves more of the blame than even Nick does. Any mother who does not protect her children is a failed human.

Only some of his fursonas have been to the shrink.

Seriously though, what's with the "conflicting" answers on this? There are a couple. Did Nick just wetbrain it the first time and not bother to fill out a fresh copy?

This is the important part, I think:

I have been told by my attorney and understand:
a. That my attorney discussed this case with one of the prosecuting attorneys and that my attorney and the prosecuting attorney agreed that if I entered a plea of guilty, the prosecutor will do the following: (Give substance of the agreement)

  • Plead guilty to amended charge of drug possession in the third degree
  • Statutory stay of adjudication pursuant to Minn. Stat. §152.18
  • Remaining terms of the sentence at Court’s discretion
  • State drops all other charges.
  • State dismisses 34-CR-24-342 against Kayla Rekieta and case against April Imholte

Hi Useful, did the clerk's office mention if an audio recording of the hearing could be purchased? Many courts also provide this service in addition to ordering transcripts. Cheers
I'm not made out of money. Even if that was available (I do not know whether it is), I am not spending an additional 100 or so bucks on it.

Just try it again lol, this is messy

Law Kiwis, how likely is the judge to accept any sort of plea? Will they be just happy to be rid of Rekita? I know I'm asking to speculate on opinion, but how likely is it this takes?
Not a lawyer, but unless something is wrong the plea deal itself, I don't see the judge refusing it. Bottom line is, it means he'll pay a hefty fine, maybe some light jail time but probably not, more than likely he'll do some house arrest or probation.

Bottom line is, Nick got a sweet ass deal to fall on his sword a bit and everyone walks away scott free barring any further issues with CPS. He was not joking when he said nearly everything was dropped.

Looks like the deferred adjudication that was always a very likely outcome, even with Nick's shenanigans. Disappointing but not surprising. I hope he fucks up horribly. He has to maintain his edge over Ethan Ralph as an absolute failure in court.
Court-enforced loss for Lolcow of the Year 2025. Truly a libertarian tragedy. Fight the State, Nick, don't let the System keep you down!

He can't claim he's innocent anymore according to the plea agreement. 🎉

But is this nigger getting the endangerment charges dropped?
There is such a thing as a best interest plea (alford plea). You accept guilty but still proclaim innocence. I am too lazy to see if thats what he filed.

First offender stuff will maybe give him gun and voting rights back. Most states let the felony slide off after probation and fines are paid.

They almost always do, especially in cases like this. About the only likely event that would lead Judge SJW not to rubber stamp it is if the presentence investigation turns up something particularly damning they didn't know about at the time of the deal.

I hope they make him take a Rorschach test and it comes out that he's retarded, even though they're not testing for that.

They're available in Minnesota but the actual plea agreement we've seen specifically says a guilty plea (even though an actual judgment won't be entered).
