While I completely agree that Destiny is a scumbag of the highest order, I'd still hold that Jontron brought that shit upon himself.

Destiny, even back then, was a rhetorician who could argue any side of any issue. You don't enter into a debate with such a person unless you can talk shit on an equivalent level (eg. Martin Shkreli) or you are extremely certain and up-to-date on your facts (eg. Norman Finkelstein), or he will pound you into the dirt.*

Jontron should have kept his ego in check and avoided being drawn into such a debate.

*The individuals in parentheses were people who humiliated Destiny in debates using the previously mentioned tactics.

I strongly suspected it was vetted by his legal team first. He has to make a public statement to do damage control as his entire career is based on streaming and he has to work twice as hard just to replace his lost viewership.

The community response is predictable, they've been coached by destiny over years to always wait for both sides of the story, and now he's given his they're going to do victory laps to defend what he did was OK which is deranged and gross. The simple fact is anything he says in response is framed from him to do maximum damage control without further compromising his legal position, so many of his fans said to wait for his side of the story, but they're also swallowing it uncritically so all roads lead to Rome with them, they'll implicity trust what he says and he'll always defend his behaviour.

To all the Destiny fans reading, the only real winner here is the conservatism you have so much hatred for, where sexual and relationship dynamics are encouraged to have reasonable limits and no to act in unrestrained deviancy, because the messy world of personal relationships is a goldmine for inappropriate drama. His generation is really the first to just lift all limits on this kind of cum guzzling gooner behaviour full of hookups with complete strangers over gridr, STDs etc. And you're already proving why conservative values evolved they way they did.

I can't wait for the degeneracy of his generation to just fizzle out in STDS and single motherhood and fathers paying child support. The vyvanse excuse is just disgusting, there was no vyvanse 100 years ago, but previous generations has the wisdom no not act like gooner degenerates 24/7.
