ATTENTION
Special rules for the Destiny thread.
  • Don't engage footsoldiers. Whiteknights do not need 100 responses to every bait post; exercise restraint. Do not give attention to people who join and bomb the thread with negative reactions.
  • Practice harm reduction. Read our prudent poster's guide.
  • Don't write open letters to Destiny. It is very annoying attention seeking behavior. Just write normal posts.
I don't get Destiny's involvement. I have my opinions about the conflict (as do many) and I believe everyone can agree (except Destiny fans) that his involvement was disastrous (for the whole debate).

The clip of Norm calling Destiny a moron is funny, but it is true, what credentials or stake/investment does Destiny really have besides Internet debate-bro points, others are academics or historians that actually seriously know the conflict in depth, meanwhile Destiny is scrolling on his iPad and crossing his gotchas on his piece of paper. I felt like Benny (who I disagree with) was given an unfair disadvantage with having Destiny -who reads shallow works such as abstracts and Wikipedia, while pretending to have depth (aka Imposter or Fraud).
tbf to Tiny, he said that the reason why he was so quiet during the first two hours was because he wanted to be respectful. He started to be louder and more combative later on because Benny and Lex told him he needed to be more aggressive during one of the breaks.
The problem with that is that Destiny assumed his opponents to be inexperienced people on Discord or the wider sektur that couldn't pay attention to his 9999 words per minute tactic.

This you bro? 🤣

Proof that this past 6months of obsession is all about nothing, just content. And then he’s going to go to Israel too? Like fucking why? This content grab isn’t really working out positively for you buddy. He’s been up late the last few nights like 3am obsessively defending his positions in the debate on twitter. He literally only cares about not being wrong, this is a very contentious subject and I don’t know if there really is a side that’s totally wrong and a side that’s totally right, that’s the biggest argument taking place right now. Imagine any of those men in the debate seeing this clip, imagine Benny seeing it and this is his partner. Say what you will about Fink performance but it was an insult for Tiny to be at that table.

As far as Layna, I’m sure being top cow feels good. I’m sure it will feel good after the month she spent with him to see he’ll have a new girl waiting in the wings to take her place as soon as she leaves, especially now, God forbid he sit alone and ponder what his actual beliefs and feelings are on anything really when he’s being completely destroyed on Twitter daily.

He said he didn’t want to date somebody who is long-distance and she lives in Canada so either she’s just gonna make monthly visits to him or she’s going to move in, but it seems to me if Tiny doesn’t want a repeat of Melina then he wouldn’t have a live-in girlfriend when he can have a new girl every week so that he can get his whittle cuddle time . At the rate he’s going it would seem kind of dumb to have a live-in girlfriend if he wants to maintain his independence and be able to fuck whoever he wants whenever he wants.

MrGirl and Lav have started a new podcast.

At 24:22 she starts talking about the "Destiny sextape". Her characterization lines up pretty closely with the post @Blav made about it. She doesn't name the other person involved, but her description seems to fit BabyPeach.

She talks about it like everyone who ever watches Destiny has seen it by now, which is questionable, given the fact that it hasn't even been posted here so far. Seems like all the people who have access to it are either staunch Destiny loyalists or want to protect his 'co-star'.

One last thing. Lately, when Tiny is debating, he does this thing where instead of actually making an argument, he simply asks a passive-aggressive question. Both he and his opponent understand what he's getting at, however, the point is completely lost on the audience or the people who get his point but disagree with him can simply say he's changing topics or pivoting (Norm did this once during the debate), making Destiny appear retarded and his opponent's name-calling and anger towards him seem justified.
I agree with what you've said - when he kept trying to push them for a percentage killed by the IDF he came across as an unhinged retard determined to get an "own" in after Norm insulted him (which was hilarious tbf).

To be fair to Lex, Destiny videos do very well on his channel. It also adds an unknown element to the debate which makes it more interesting than a bunch of old idiots rambling. The clips of Norm insulting Destiny are all over the place, it's getting a lot of coverage - I doubt this happens if Destiny wasn't there as the comic relief.

It looks like he's sick of being "nice" in debates, aka the comments are getting to him. He's also promising some crazy big memes about Norm on today's stream.

Along with this, clips of him groping people (and other controversial things) is being on the trending page:

Tbf to us, when is he ever respectful? That just sounds like cope. This thread’s documentation disproves that pretty quickly. Even when he’s “calm” in other debates, he’s still getting in his little passive aggressive digs like it’s some sort of tic.

He’s so unhinged, if he didn’t have the leftist protection label in a time where that’s the acceptable opinion, he’d be sitting next to Fuentes, or Ethan Ralph where he belongs. Respectful my ass.

I feel like he was there to derail any serious discussion, much like alex jones did in the zerohedge debate a few months ago. He's also there to draw numbers I would assume.

I am curious what autistic grift Steven will move to next. He was on the redpill/manosphere shit for awhile until he pivoted to being a devoted IDF shill. I assume he will move on from the Israel/Palestine shit soon and pivot towards the 2024 election and going full on democrat/"our democracy is in danger" shill mode, where he will just watch some new Trump clips everyday and try to debate bro popular conservative/MAGA personalities.

I suddenly respect Finkelstein's earlier decision to not debate Destiny a lot more. Just the fact that half the comments are Destiny's fans whining about Finkelstein not talking fast enough means that there's zero substantive discussion of the debate in the comments. Maybe if Lex reuploaded the whole thing split screen with Subway Surfers or whatever other digital pacifier for them to suck on.
IMO a debate is meant to influence and change minds of those listening, not your opponent because they are already set in their position.
I sympathize with Finkelstein's annoyance towards Destiny. There's a point where Finkelstein sarcastically comments on how hilarious it is that women and children are dying in the thousands, to which Lex responds by saying nobody present thinks those deaths are funny. Finkelstein has obviously spent some time trying to learn Destiny's position on Israel Palestine and being frustrated with the flippancy that he approaches the wanton murder of innocent civilians with, while Fridman hasn't. They also have a hard time pinning down the pro-Israel side to a position, in particular Morris who is constantly walking back his earlier statements or claiming that Finkelstein is missing context when he isn't. Morris is quite clear in his early writings that he believes mass expulsion is an inexorable part of Zionism, then later he claims that it wasn't and it happened as a reaction to Arab aggression, then finally when Norman tries to press him on it he just starts waffling about Norman not understanding the complexity of history and only seeing the world in black and white (ironically Morris immediately follows this up with a blanket statement about the Arabs expelling Jews from their lands across all Arab countries, evidently forgetting cases like Morocco where the King accepted money from Mossad in exchange for every Jew he got to emigrate to Israel https://www.timesofisrael.com/a-look-at-israels-decades-long-covert-intelligence-ties-with-morocco/ )

Given these factors I don't blame Norman for getting fed up when the communication breaks down and just deciding to call Destiny a moron to his face. He could've been civil and Morris would've still just lied and Destiny would still just come after him with a superficial understanding of the situation, ignoring the things he said (like when Norman points out that ideology often changes drastically when it comes in contact with material reality, and Destiny just talked right past that point) so why keep pretending this is somehow supposed to be a reasoned debate. The only real criticism I suppose you could make is that for people who think the Israel Palestine argument is just two sides yelling at each other, unable to reach a middle ground, this debate will serve as evidence, but anyone who pays even a little attention to the news will know better.

Destiny is now reading on stream about some court case Norman Finkelstein had in 2017 to try and show that he's mentally unwell. This proves to me that Destiny knows he did not look good in the debate. He does this childish tactic when he knows he looked bad in any debate. He tries to cling to anything he can do make his opponent look bad/crazy even if it has nothing to do the debate.

Um... why would he forget? The mass explusion is usually covering the period of 1948 to the 50s. The linked article points out that mossad's payments began in '61 - after Morocco had a law banning jews from leaving from '56 to then. Before that point it looks like estimates of Jews leaving numbered just shy of 100k. Or did he specify that his definition of the explusion would cover the decade of the 60s? Because in most memes I've seen it stops in the 50s.

Or were you wanting him to hit Putin levels of autism going over dates and timeline details? (Though I've rarely seen a history talk not devolve into those.)

Um... why would he forget? The mass explusion is usually covering the period of 1948 to the 50s.
No. The history of Jews in Arab countries and their emigration to Israel (or in some cases elsewhere) spans several decades and has many different factors, many of which are particular to the country in question (such as the Nazi occupation of North Africa, the French granting citizenship to the Jews in Algeria who would eventually leave for France during the Algerian war, etc.) but one cause common to all societies in the middle east was Zionist aspirations (Zionism is conveniently framed as a direct response to being victimized by genocide as a means to imply that Arab Jews were also suffering their own holocaust, yet American Jews, who have suffered no such genocide, have also joined the Zionist movement)

That's not to imply that there was no repression of Jewish communities in the Arab states between 1948 and now. It's just stupid that he accuses Finkelstein repeatedly of not understanding historical nuance (what he's really upset at is that Finkelstein isn't accepting his verbal obfuscation) and then directly after chalks up the entire history of Jewish emigration out of Arab states to this implied rabid antisemitism that Arabs all seem to share. It was frustrating just listening to Morris rely on this rope-a-dope strategy, I don't blame Norman for being frustrated sitting at a table with him.

Or did he specify that his definition of the explusion would cover the decade of the 60s? Because in most memes I've seen it stops in the 50s.

There were no expulsions, in fact many Arab governments forbade Jews from leaving, similar to the way the United States put Japanese-Americans in internment camps (and nearly at the same time). The repression against Jews at the government level involved limiting who they could do business with, forbade them from selling their lands, and so on. Riots arising as a backlash to Zionism ended up destroying synagogues and leaving varying numbers of Jews either dead or displaced from their homes. Like the internment camps these are crimes that should constitute a national shame for those nations that committed them, but it's not an expulsion.
