For a while I've thought of Destiny as a higher-functioning version of Ethan Ralph. They both have very messy personal lives, they both have a tendency to irreparably burn bridges with supposed friends and colleagues, and they both spend more time talking up their devotion to their respective kids rather than actually raising them. The core difference between the two of them is that Destiny really hasn't had a substance abuse problem like Ralph, which means he's lucid enough to navigate any setbacks and public humiliation and not let them pile up and completely fuck his life over. If he's still abusing his ADHD meds he's going to lose that coherency that's kept him afloat the past few years.
