Suggestion and Update Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I don't know if this has been bought up but, while being able to search DMs is very useful, there doesn't seem to be a way to disable it? I'd rather not see them if I'm trying to search through my own posts

Just wondering if Xenforo supports being able to click the Highlights button to present a list of highlights, as opposed to going back/forward one at a time.

Suggestion: Create a "latest highlight" button. If you use highlights to navigate threads, opening a new thread sets you to the last page, which rarely has a highlight. In order to use the highlights, you have to go back page by page until the "next highlight" button appears.

Thank you.

Can threads in Lolcow General be put on an update list similar to New Off-Topic threads? A lot of the time, there's threads made in that sub-forum that I would like to have participated in earlier had I known that they were created in the first place.

Threads here seem to last quite a while and sometimes be very long with twists and turns. To make threads easier to browse (in long and active threads) have a timeline per thread where big events are given dates so people can jump to that time in the thread and see what was said. the timeline would be just next to or above the page number.

Hello fren,

It would be cool if i could click on a button to see the replies to a post in one overview, instead of scrolling down the page to find them manually. perhaps a feature to find the post chain of replies to follow a discussion more conveniently.

I remember a 4ch browser had a similar feature that diplayed all posts that mentioned the highlighted post.

It should be based on the community feature submissions. Were you thinking something like this?

(Example based on Devon Del Vecchio since he's)
This thread has been featured (9) times:
I think this would be nice to have as a sidebar on the left, or a bot that auto posts right after the OP.
It might also free up some room in the OP for extensive threads.

it would be nice if we could get "thread theme" music videos attached to the webpage itself so that i could listen to the theme while skimming pages of a thread. I know i can open it in another window, its just a convenience.

It would be cool if the next highlight arrow at the top and previous highlight arrow bottom of the page treated the current page as part of that highlight "loop"

I can't tell you how many highlights I've missed because the page I was on when checking the thread previously had a highlight on it.

I really wish I could just edit my posts like a normal forum instead of having to self report and bother a moderator to do it for me.

Can the Active Thread links send you to the latest unread post, instead of always to the OP?

If these are threads we're meant to return to multiple times, it saves a click (and server traffic) jumping to where we left off. Especially as time goes on, more users will have clicked more threads that show up in this section, thus saving more time and traffic.

Not quite a problem, but why is the pink triangle oriented base down, point up now? I mean, somehow it was funnier when it was like the badges in nazi concentration camps.

Suggestion: is it possible to add an option to "watch" a thread that excludes receiving notifications every time someone comments?

Asking because it is convenient to have your favorite/frequent threads gathered at the top of the homepage, but the constant notifications that come with it are not convenient.

Can we have a counter at the top of the PG that says "x days since last PA request"? It might help stem the tide of dogshit OPs by newfags with an axe to grind.

Idk if I remember this correctly, but didn't the old highlight system remember if you saw the highlight(s) on the current page?
I /think/ in the old system if you saw the highlight in the current page, and you clicked next on the very top, it took you to the next page. Now it takes you to the highlight on the current page, and you have to click next again on the highlight (multiple times, if you have multiple highlight on one page).

It would makes thing easier to just go back to the very top when you read posts after an interesting highlight.

@Null Would it be possible to put a add quote button to the edit page on recent posts?

I'm on mobile so maybe this isn't a normal problem, but sometimes I want to quote a newer post after I just left a comment but I have no options to add a quote unless I delete and repost .

It would probably help slightly with people double posting .
