Feedback Technical Grievances

The post editor seems to be broken (cannot reply) when JS is enabled, as a workarround disabling JS entierly using Noscript reverts back to the simplest of editors.
Console complains about a file called "editor-compiled.js" having a bad syntax.

No, I am not an american.

Error on console:
Code:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token (at editor-compiled.js?_v=6a7d6aee:430:13)

I believe I have fixed the issue causing a ton of weird bugs, most notably thread highlights not working.

There's a bug causing the JS to cache incorrectly. I do not know why.

Theoretically, modern caching has a version check via ETag which should invalidate a bad cache, but that is not what happens in practice.

Error has been occured. Please try again later.

This happened both on Clearnet and TOR. I had to wait for an hour to able access the website again.

Occasionally, hyperlinks do not attach. This happens even when I change browsers (Brave version 1.47.171 ; Firefox version 108.0.2 x64) or computers (Macbook and regular Windows PC).

Edit: I should add that hyperlinks fail to attach even on multiple attempts to edit the message to try to attach it. This persists after closing/reopening the browser or restarting the computer.

I've been having trouble uploading images for about a week now. If I upload as an attachment it either hangs or gets to 100% then stays greyed out with no options other than delete. If I use the insert image tool it either hangs or gets to 100% and throws that 'oops we ran into a problem' message.

I've tried different browsers and still get the same problem. I can upload images to other sites so I don't think it's a problem with my internet or anything.

I'm still getting a shit-ton of 429 errors on various mullvad server.
I figured part of this shit out. It's an extension in Firefox that's causing this issue - possibly sending too many requests to server in background causing the 429? Unsure, but going one-by-one through extensions now to see which one was causing it.

I get it on a browser that doesn't run any extensions.

It happens mainly though if i happen to hit the emoji icon or if its a long image heavy OP.

Are you possibly on Wifi? Since Im having the same issue now and then and I know I have packet drops on my connection in the room im in mostly. So each time there's a packet drop the client sents a request again I think.

Yep I use wifi but im not sure i get a lot of loss i game on it with no issues

I keep getting a blank white page when I try to load the site from the US. Changed my VPN to Hungary and it works fine now, if a little slow.

429 means that you are reaching the rate limit. If you're using a VPN, especially popular ones like Mullvad, that means you're sharing a connection with other people. You will hit this limit more often.
If you do have a choice, just switch nodes, you'll encounter it less often. I encounter these usually when I do my "open up 50 threads at once" bullshit, which is why I don't generally report things that are the result of my own peculiar behavior. If you're seeing this opening less than ten things at once, you may be the victim of one of these "many other Kiwis are using this very VPN IP address" issue.

I'm not on a vpn and am still getting 429 errors. They seem to happen at random-opening five threads simultaneously is fine, but spending a minute on one page then clicking a link to a different page gets me a 429. I'm exclusively using Brave and using my basic home wifi, if that's any help identifying what might be an issue.

I've also encountered this issue several times over the last few days, especially with links to archive.today. Currently using Tor v. 102.6.0esr
