Feedback Technical Grievances

Uploads are fucked for me. I want to attach a zip file but "Attach files" doesn't work. Shows "0%" which vanishes after a second, but that's it. When I submit the post nothing is attached.

I'm using Tor Browser 12.0.6, says it's up to date.
I've figured out the issue.

My installation downloads things to ~/.tb/tor-browser/Browser/Downloads/ instead of my regular downloads folder and won't allow me to change it, probably for security reasons.

I figured maybe it won't touch files outside that directory, so I moved a copy of the files I wanted to upload to that Downloads folder and I was finally able to attach them to a post.

If any of you are having trouble uploading files via Tor Browser try that. I'm a gay Linuxfag so I don't know what the Windows directory would be, but you should be able to google it or something.

I'm working on a thread for Tophiachu that mostly consists of a bunch of TikTok videos. Uploading videos through Tor is like pulling teeth and it looks like in the middle of my work they all started saying "no video with supported format and MIME type found". They look the same when I preview the post.
Will it show up as normal when I post it or do I have to upload every single video again?

It should show up as normal when you post media has for me.

While we're at the old version of the DDOS protection, the one that doesn't support multiple tabs loading at once (i.e., if multiple bot checks trigger at once, one will pass the others will auto-fail), is there any way we can have the "the server responded with an error" text amended to include something like "Try Again?" and a hyperlink to reload the page?

Like this thread would be: /?bot-check/threads/technical-grievances.16928/page-341 and the Try Again? link could link to /threads/technical-grievances.16928/page-341 .

I ask cause if I get that error I just remove the /?bot-check/ text or hit back (which launches me back a page or two in threads).

Oh yeah i had that happen once, that was annoying as i didn't understand what was happening.

I can't post when using the TOR browser as of yesterday. Only the buttons "Post Reply" and "Attach files" appear at the bottom of a thread. Switched over to TOR on Brave, and it works just fine.

timestamps broke?
This happens everywhere btw, not just on the front page; I just felt the front page was the best example since it had so many of these all in a row

I've noticed random 504 gateway timeout errors for the last couple of hours.
Seconding, but i've had intermittent 504s and "server not found"s since getting on TOR

Restart Tor, that pretty much always fixes it for me

For those of you getting 504s you may have a bad guard node which new circuit doesn't fix. I know earlier someone posted what to do to fix it but i cannot find the post.

I'm unable to upload an .mp4. The message I keep getting is:

"Oops! We ran into some problems.
The uploaded file was not a video as expected."

Is anyone else having this problem?

Delete state file.
..\Tor Browser\Browser\TorBrowser\Data\Tor\state
Then restart tor.

Usually just restarting doesn't reset guard node.

Or turn on bridges because then the bridge will act as a guard node. I'm not sure if it reverts back to the original if you turn it back off again, so the first option is probably the best.

Timestamps have been weird for the past few days for me. It doesn't matter whether I'm on my phone or computer and restarting Tor makes no difference. Every time I check my new Alerts, they're labelled 'yesterday' even when they're only a couple minutes old. Sometimes the times on the posts themselves are messed up, too. It's not a huge issue but I'm having to be careful what I reply to, in case I necro something or end up jumping into a discussion that everyone else has already moved on from.

One of the Javascript files failed to download. Clear your cache.

is it possible to have the random quote thing link to it's source or is it too late for that? There's been a few really WTF ones.
