Bug report:

There is a bug where the instant search that pops up when @-ing someone doesn't return results for all users (ie: some users are missing from the results)

For example, there are two users named "Happy Camper",

However, only one pops up when you start typing @Happy c[...]

It seems like it's a font issue. When I write "happy" on my keyboard, my name pops up in the list. But if you copy-paste the other user's name from his profile, he shows up in the @ list. At least that's how it appears for me.

It seems that guests can no longer freely view "News & Articles", or any content under the "Autistic Thunderdome".

I remember first noticing this when the second Trump assassination attempt happened, and a bunch of acquaintances on the Internet who use Kiwi Farms for information aggregation were unable to access the thread even though it was featured on the front page. This is still persisting and obviously has discouraging effects for potential new members.

I don't remember this being a thing when I was a lurker, is this working as intended or some sort of temporary measure?

Dude you have Wernicke-Korsakoff. You routinely talk to your own tie. You don't even remember who you are half the time! You don't remember shit, because you're completely insane, Mr. Du Bois!

I can still see Autistic Thunderdome logged out. A&N being visible for members only has always been a thing.

I see, my post should be entirely disregarded.

There was a miscommunication with said acquaintances, they say the same, while I convoluted happenings and news and articles together. Thanks for clarifying.

My avatar's gif seems to be busted somehow and I don't know why. I've already tried some gif conversion tools but nothing seems to change it. Any help would be appreciated.

Post the original video file and I could have a look.

@Kalsarikännit That's not a video so my attempt is going to take generation loss, but here you go, try this.

I think web browsers might have an implementation problem where they lose track of previous parts of the animation, and instead of re-setting it like they should, they keep going and that causes glitches.

I re-encoded it so every single frame is stand alone and ~perfect by itself (modulo quantization and digital generation loss).

If it works I'll go frame-by-frame and make the background whatever color you want.

From the ASCII transliteration, the second, un-@-able Happy Camper (I will call him Narru) appears to be using Cyrillic letters that are derived from Latin in his username. These then get ASCII-ed into their cognate phonemes, which leads the URL to read "narru-samrer". You'd need a function to map other letterforms onto ASCII/Latin in order to "fix" this. I'd call this more a hack by Narru than a forum bug... but it is confusing behaviour which could be read as a bug.

This is really neat actually! I didn't know Narru's URL was a phoneticized version of the username,

It's possible to do nested quotes by copying and pasting, but it's not possible to do nested quotes by using the xfQuote button

Forcing color scheme changes on all users is idiotic.
Have you ever been to this thing called a website before? The people who make it can set colours they want! wow! Not only that, YOU can set default colours in your browser to override the website's colour choices! Zowie wowie!!!
