so the way that I've modified reactions breaks XenForo. In XenForo, reactions have no limitations available. Everyone can use every reaction everywhere. Our site doesn't work like that. However, XenForo is coded with the expectation that you can always use them all the time.

I was trying to fix reactions not working in pfp and convos but there's always another thing that fucking breaks when I mess with it. I wasn't ready to commit that code but I was eager to get all the work I did on postmarks and stuff up.

I'll fix that tomorrow hopefully.

Do you use the [XB] Reaction Control thingy? I think it's an add on that sets user groups with different perms for reactions.

Is the request interface working correctly? This is what I see, with no buttons to submit/cancel, and no indication that I have already successfully requested when I come back.

Also, since I'm already whining, video playback has been slower than ever for the last few days. Usually I can let it buffer a few seconds then continue, but the whole weekend I was getting the Null-streaming-in-Serbia experience.

One person can nominate, then it's in limbo in the approval queue until 1. Accepted(end of process) or 2. Rejected(reset, available for nomination again, not blocked).

It's been in and out of the queue for 3 cycles now, with other users saying it was blocked/already nominated now.
 
Small thing I would like to point out. Previously you could hover over the ribbon highlight of a post and see if it was highlighted automatically, or postmarked and who post marked it. Now it doesn't do that and if I click on an automatically highlighted post's ribbon it brings up the postmark request dialog box. Obviously this is not a big deal, especially since you can use colors to tell, but I wanted to point it out incase it was an unintended consequence of adding the post mark request feature. Please don't be mad
 
Firefox's "Resist Fingerprinting" option causes attached image files to appear garbled.

This can be fixed by disabling "privacy.resistFingerprinting" in Firefox's "about:config" page, accessed by typing about:config in the URL bar.

This issue can also be avoided by dragging a picture from the desktop onto the Kiwifarms reply form, even with resist fingerprinting enabled.

The forum automatically changing what I type into Chris Chan emojis is another technical grievance.

This was already covered here, you can also disable the fingerprint protection when you upload an image (an icon will show up to the left on the URL bar), you click on it and disable it like that, at least on Tor.

However that's not necessary to do, you can always convert the image to webp format yourself (like on here), then you can upload to Kiwifarms without problem & without disabling anything.

Are you taking suggestions for the current theme, or is it something you'll work on later? There is an issue with the visibility of the <hr> tag (the horizontal line):
↑↑↑ is not visible.

And also, that the "New Off-Topic Threads" or "New Sperging" box as it was called before, should hold several of them (6, like always) instead of 3 as it is currently.

That favours more engagement and lets new threads have a higher chance of being discovered more easily before they are pushed off by newer ones.
 
The ribbons on featured, highlighted, and postmarked posts do not show the info popup any more ("highlighted automatically on 4/28/2025", etc).

Also, when clicking a highlighted post's ribbon, I can request it to be postmarked as well. Not sure if that's intentional but it's a potential avenue for wasting mod's attention.
 
Did anyone else see the Articles & News sub-forum and on the update list when logged out, I.E Guest? Can't really provide screenshots since I'm on mobile and it would be a bitch to do.
 
Null fucked something up and now I can see all possible stickers (though, can't click the T&HF ones).
Also, randomly unable to reply some posts.

Ignoring someone with a highlighted post in a thread breaks the highlight "next" and "previous" buttons atop highlighted posts.

Example: AmpleApricots is on ignore.
Clicking on previous does nothing from this post if AmpleApricots is ignored.
Showing the "this may grind your gears" via a reply fixes it.

I would hope the fix completely skips their highlighted post. I love that people I hate completely disappear.
