I'm not sure what happened with Turkey Tom's thread, but it seems the order of the posts was messed up. For example, a post made 17 minutes ago is above a post made yesterday. Not to mention, I couldn't get the thread to be marked as read as well.

When uploading an mp4 video it doesn't immediately show, right clicking and opening the video in a new tab gives a white page with "Not Found". After a couple of minutes the video is there and viewable.

I have a similar problem when uploading images, thumbnails don't immediately show in the uploads panel, or when inserted into the message. After a couple of minutes they are there. Closing the browser and logging back in doesn't help.

I'm using TOR browser 15.0.5 It's no big deal I thought maybe it's just one of the quirks of using TOR browser.

CTRL+F5. I think that should be fixed. There was another 0B/truncated file issue.

This is an issue with XenForo. It will never be fixed. It has to do with caching. I don't know why people keep reporting this. If you refresh it fixes the timestamps.

I was trying to upload a few videos in a thread. 1-3 minutes long each. And I'm having the same issues described above. So I think whatever is causing it is ongoing. The upload speed seems especially slow right now. But more importantly after waiting for the videos to get uploaded, they never actually allow me to add them to the post. In the past when that happened, I was able to just add the video to the draft a second time. Sit through uploading again. Then finally it would usually work. This time it's just not allowing me to, if it makes it through the actual upload without stalling.

I had an issue yesterday when trying to access the site on my phone (iPhone 6 running iOS 15 and using Safari and Brave - didn’t work on either). Instead of connecting to the site or the Tartarus page, it just did nothing until it loaded a Safari-based ‘failed to connect’ page. This was the case all last night whenever I tried between about 6pm to midnight.

When I tried accessing the site from my PC during this time, it worked right away with no problems.

I can access the site on my phone now, but I haven’t changed anything about the phone or settings, it just works now, and yesterday it didn’t. Thought I’d mention it in case it’s significant.

I think possibly not. I had an issue with an avatar I made for someone the other day and I've just responded to someone else who is having a similar issue here. I made certain that the issue was not one of caching. Different images were being served depending on connection. I had originally thought the distinction might be between Tor and non-Tor but I've had the "same" image served as different images on different Tor circuits (one I was not logged in on but shouldn't be relevant) and on different VPN connections clearnet. E.g. someone's avatar has different files for different connections.

The file names are different also. This person in the link above uploaded a gif but sometimes it is served as ".jpg" (though still a GIF). Other times the file is the same name but .gif extension. The files are definitely different, definitely not a caching issue on user end and delay in propagation is large. For me I think it was next day but I wasn't checking rigorously.

EDIT: I might as well just put my full reply from the other person's thread below:

Yes and no. I am being served different images per connection. A VPN connection gets me a .gif file. One Onion / Tor circuit gets me the same .gif file whilst a third Onion/Tor circuit gets me a ".jpg" file.

The .jpg file is of course a gif. But they are not the same file but different extensions to be clear - different dimensions as well as file size.

I made an avatar for someone the other day and it showed up for some people seemingly quickly whilst for me it only showed up much later. And this was not an issue of a cached version of the image, I made sure of that. I had thought perhaps it was a TOR vs. VPN issue but now testing with yours I see that even via two TOR connections it can be different.

There is clearly some propagation delay going on since the new system but more than that, perhaps, as there is a different file extension being applied (same image name however).

As an aside, the site does support animated .webp which is what I have begun using for animated avatars I've made here. There's an oddity though in that they are re-encoded no matter what I do and something about the re-encoding strips out frame delays. I know this because I wanted to have an animated image that only changed after a long delay. A bit of a "did I just see that?" effect on people. But that proved impossible. I could do it by adding lots of repeated frames at the start of the animation but then the file size was huge. Or I could just encode a ten minute delay between the first and second frame (something you can do with .webp but not .gif). However, whatever forced re-encoding Null is doing, strips that. And the re-encoding happens no matter how small I made the image (data and dimensions) so far as I could tell.

EDIT: I half feel this is worth raising with Null, as you're the second person this has confused now.

EDIT: Apologies - I should have included the browser information. I neglected to because I didn't think it was a display issue (I downloaded the images, they are definitely different) but I should always include everything. Browsers are Brave and Tor Browser, but issue is independent of either of these so far as I could see.

In the upper right there is a box marked "Search" type "Invitation" and search this thread.
Here, let me google that for you.

Dang, it actually works! Thanks Null. Was wondering if I had to use Waterfox again.

Today I noticed my notification said that "[some sperg] replied to the 'US Politics Thread 2: Hope Edition'" which was weird because I didn't have that thread in my watchlist and it doesn't seem to be there. I don't need every thread I've posted in to be on some soft list that I have no control over, most of my watched threads are mine or are slow.

I just had an uploaded image not show up, and after refreshing the thread, it appears attached to the (as-yet unposted) post about a dozen times. Event though I only tried attaching it twice before refreshing, And I can't seem to delete the redundant attachments it took several page refreshes before I could get rid of the redundant copies and the post looks fine now but if there are a dozen screenshots of the same Matt Forney tweet claiming sex slavery isn't real in a cache somewhere, that's why.

That's an old issue with the lag/pause causing it not to update when finished uploading. Though the multiple (assuming you didn't try to upload multiple times) upload thing is a question. I've had it happen before with single attempts. Probably the same issue only at the start or mid way?

That is a new one for me.. Usually they are there, it just doesn't update without a refresh. No sure if it is the same cause only more severe or something else entirely.

That anti-DDOS thing used to work on the toaster I also use (browser is only 5 years old), but the new one does not. At least I'm not limited to just using said toaster now.

I lucked out on that but know how it feels. My previous system was.. lol
What prevents you from updating browser?

Not sure if this is relevant, but I think I found a workaround. I requested the gif itself directly from my browser. The image that showed up worked correctly, but had a significantly smaller filesize. I saved this file (from KF) and reuploaded it to my account, it's been working so far. We'll see if if holds.

The file I downloaded from KF had a filesize of 3.3mb, the file I uploaded was much bigger: 20.4mb

The fact that the animation was breaking partway through makes me think this might be an issue with filesize and memory.

I noticed that the image only broke in certain places it was used on the site:
  • Image requested directly from servers by searching it's URI in my browser (works)
  • Tiny PFP on top ribbon, next to direct messages icon (works)
  • Main PFP on my Account Profile page (breaks)
  • PFPs on my posts and replies specifically on my Account Profile page (works)
  • Posts on individual threads (breaks)
  • PFP at bottom of page, next to "Forum Guidelines" and "Post Reply" (works)

i cant upload a 200mb video without the uploading failing
can you track the network and give me a report? people keep saying this but I am able to dump 1GB files without issue and I'm sick of retesting this. like ANY information you can give me. i feel like i'm being fucked with at this point. just give me an error code, ttrs-id from the response headers, like anything
