Learn Latin and then learn some Romance language. French is on my list after ancient Greek. I know several oddities in French trace back to Latin, like the word for apple changing gender based on its case.
I already mastered spanish, even down to the spoken part, as well as english. I have some contacts both where I live and in France proper that would make learning french highly beneficial, but all of that hinges on France not collapsing on itself due to retardation.
I'd be interested in that! Also, are you learning Attic Greek or Koine Greek?

I'm a Greek native and you've got some balls trying to learn Ancient Greek. Since Greek is my mother tongue, and this applies to a lot of us, I always get it confused with modern Greek which makes it impossible for me to properly learn, a detirment that Latin thankfully doesn't have. If you learn the Greek alphabet, I find you can learn Cyrillic really easily, since it's derived from Greek and a lot of the letters are the same. I don't know any Slavic languages beyond a couple of words and phrases, but I can read them.
I get what you mean, Ancient Greek feels completely fucking alien to Modern Greek, and at most I'd only recognize a couple of words. Latin is much easier to learn and you can actually see the resemblence to its descendent Romance languages.
