No clue, its from the guy developing the port posting on the forum.
Not using a project for political reasons is always gay and retarded. Even its its my own political reasons. Some of those projects do actually have good use cases. And do what they are meant to do well. If software works well. I don't care who wrote it. It could be microsoft even. If they open-source it, and it's not selling my data or serving me ads.

I just see the mirror version of trannies saying "but they want me dead". It's the spiderman meme where they're pointing at each other.
Yeah no, I completely agree, all my computers are running Libreboot and I have Alpine on my seedbox, despite both being developed by loony troons. There's a good chance I will be running FreeBSD as well because I kinda cba dealing with OpenBSD's gimped Internet speeds. I was just lamenting the prevalence of "acceptable use policies", "codes of conduct" or other authoritarian power grab schemes. Because that's what it is at the end of the day, an attempt by trannies, corpo goons or other narcissists to exert control over a domain and philosophy that (should) explicitly reject it. Given choice between two similar systems, I would always choose the one less addled. Anyway, yeah, as long as they don't have heavy reliance on systemd or other malignant elements in their code, then its whatever.

do these even work well on linux? i was told these were essentially lacking all of their features and crashing constantly. great things on windows though, apparently.
It runs well enough for transcoding in Emby, and it handled playing games in a Steam docker image fine

there should be a meme of lunduke showing off openmandriva and saying "this is based"
and in the background are the 1000 dependencies and its just a bunch of tranny soyjaks

considering that e.g. Void, Alpine and Chimer all have three things in common: they dislike XLibre, have a CoC and are run by trannies. Shocker!
If Void has a CoC, they've hidden it so well I can't find it. The one troon on the dev team I know of is pretty quiet. Not rushing to package the latest hype that hasn't proven it has legs yet is common sense.

I just don't like how it uses such an old kernel. I think Debian 12 still doesn't support Intel Arc GPUs
1. Run Testing until it becomes Stable for new hardware.
2. Run backports.

As I recall my A770 worked ok on Debian, but not in AI in Linux, so I gave it to a Windows only friend who didn't care about AI. Never tried transcoding since I don't ever transcode anything.

Really? It used to be in a tab on the homepage. Benefit of the doubt, they may very well have stepped back and purged it. Also, I know, I was just being a bit hyperbolic.

Impulsively jumping on half-baked shit is why we're in this mess...

Regardless of what happens to Xlibre down the line, the responses to it are certainly acting as a good litmus test for how distros prioritize functionality vs. politics.

I'm currently waiting for OpenMandriva to download (they have a comfy forum).

The best thing you can do to piss off these trannies is to use the good parts of their projects anyways and tell them to fuck off. It always pisses me off to see people abandoning good projects to troons because its just letting them win. Alot of the most based engineers I've encountered use languages like rust on systems like nix and arch even though troons are abundant. The tech is good and addresses real problems. The troons seethe incredibly hard because they can't do anything about it and thse guys are using their tech for things like crypto, military, "hatespeech" etc. Good tech, is good tech, and open source is all about doing whatever the fuck you want with it

After digging out my old 250gb SSD yesterday, I'm planning on plugging it in and installing Mint so I can try it out for a month or two (I know that dual booting exists, but this just seems like the better option). Any advice or suggestions for things to do/install?

Mint is dead simple to get going and the easiest transition available. Honestly the hardest part is that its easy to fall into a less "Linux" way of doing things and learning less than you would otherwise. Move at a pace you're comfortable with, but try to ease into doing more of your workflow via the terminal over time, and you'll be much more comfortable with Linux as a whole because of it.

This is exactly what I was saying a week or so ago when I was talking about them really fucking up when they mentioned diy in the readme by name. He just gave all these weirdos fuel to use against the project. Just such a dumb move for the longevity of the project. I feel like anyone that doesn't understand what i'm saying. has to be a bit delusional about this.

Politics, shouldn't be a part of any software project. However, we do live in a democracy and therefore everything is political. When leftists types say that, they are sadly correct. You have to have political opinions on everything and the correct ones at that. If you don't, you are a suspect and are made to take a stand.

I don't think Xlibre guy's stance is wrong. Everything that is not explicitly right-wing will become left-wing over time. Because they cannot subvert the project, only other option for them is to be hostile and try to exclude it socially. And that can be overcome by being good.

Problem with this stand, isn't that tranny mad, it's that often times, this right-wing would-be crusaders are the same kind of incompetent retards as their left-wing counterparts. Which isn't conductive to good software.

Anything not explicitly anti tranny communist will become tranny and communist because of the way these groups expand. This is the same basic tactic migrants do to slowly seize control of the countries they invade. You always get some cuck arguing how it's good to be neutral as everything around him becomes alien and weird because he welcomes weirdos and freaks into his kingdom under his non-discrimination policy.

I'm glad the culture war is ramping up in linux, people should fork away from the likes of debian, suse, RH and KDE who call you a "nazi maggot" for not joining their weird gay sex cult. People should offer services that are explicitly anti freak.

That's literally what they want you to do. And are telling you to do.

They want right wing people to not use their software. And to go off in their little corner out of their sight.

what @Demonslayer1776 said is exactly right. Beside "nazis" using their software, and their not being anything they can do about it making them seethe more than anything else.

If good developers let them completely control everything that actually matters in linux, and opensource. Go off, spend a bunch of time and effort making projects that have no technical reason to exist other than being "based". I don't see that as a win. Seems more like a loss for everyone.

I don't understand the mentality of, "they said they want me to leave, and not use their software" "So I'm going to leave and not use your software, take that!"

The trick is to find a replacement and promote it to the point everyone moves over from the tranny software

They basically do control everything in Linux, You aren't winning by pretending you're owning them by using the software they have entirely seized control of. This mentality is why the left have been able to seize so much over the years. They take control of every platform, every service and every institution while you tell yourself they are sneeding because you use said platform etc against their wishes. They aren't sneeding, they are slowly capturing everything and converting it into a form of control they can have over you.

I am glad xlibre happened, I want anti-freak software, I want anti-freak everything.

I think we worry too much about malding troons, probably because we're on a website dedicated to lolcows.
People will go wherever the good stuff is, regardless of past glories and current seethe: Look at the Hogwarts Legacy boycott, and if you know your computer history, look at Novell and Sun.
Apparently Arch + Hyprland is becoming a popular combo, but whilst hyprland uses wayland protocols, Red hat really fucking hate the main dev for being sane.
All the deals and schemes in the world won't save you if you can't produce the goods... I wonder if anyone at Red Hat remembers what happened to SCO?

Nah, this is an overly rosy view of the world. Lots of retards will just go along with insane trendy ideas, like inverting your penis or Wayland or systemd. They will think up all sorts of nonsense justifications. They must have their heads hit (figuratively or literally) with a stone club.

uhh.webp
If the designers of X Windows built cars, there would be no fewer than five steering wheels hidden about the cockpit, none of which followed the same principles—but you’d be able to shift gears with your car stereo. Useful feature, that

Ready to take the Arch + Hyprland pill. Fuck all the dumb shit
