I’m feeling pretty devastated today. I ran the half marathon in my city yesterday, and this morning I saw the results online. To my shock, my name was listed in black, not pink like the other women. My heart sank because everyone can see this, and it felt like being outed.
When I filled out the form, I clearly marked “Female” and even chose a women’s t-shirt size. I immediately contacted the organizers, and they said the registration form had an “M” marked for gender, implying it was an error. But I know this wasn’t my mistake.
I can’t shake the feeling that someone with access to the data changed it on purpose, knowing I’m trans. It feels too coincidental that this happened specifically to me, the one trans person.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, or am I overthinking this?

My family prefers to irrigate minor wounds with hydrogen peroxide. I've heard neither really helps, but isopropyl alcohol is the antiseptic of choice to clean the skin before you give a needle stick. If you're cleaning a larger area of skin, eg pre-surgery, pre-tattoo, clorhexidine is more common.

I have used it before on certain things. I've actually found using it after waxing hairs off my face hurts like fucking hell, but also drops the number of infected/ingrown hairs like magic.

Aftershave works on the same principle… and yeah, it will reduce razor irritation, by killing the bacteria that would otherwise thrive in the damaged skin.

A small nod is a universal friendly gesture. Usually it’s so small and natural, it’s unnoticed.

I've actually found the opposite to be true. Audrey Hale was reported as female in the news. No trans-identified females have been transfered to male prisons, although I'm aware of one who asked (her request was denied). When transmen commit crimes, they're more likely to be reported in the news as women. When transwomen commit crimes, they also get reported as women.

I've ranted on almost this exact thing before, but the root of this entire bullshit is the obviously false and incredibly autistic belief that language and mental models for the world actually shape and create the world in a meaningful way. These people simply do not understand that there is an objective reality that exists independent of their perceptions of it. They think that they can play "rules lawyer" against the actual fucking universe and if they find a "loophole" then every single human being on Earth must agree with them, except of course they're not actually debating the rules of reality, they're debating linguistic minutiae and technical details of human-made models of reality, and only the strictly defined ones. And this is why the idea of "woman trapped inside a man's body" is bullshit. If someone's gender is determine by how you see yourself then how exactly can one be born with the wrong "gendered" brain?
