As others have pointed out and made the valid point they're on TV and so can't say anything critical. I do get the feeling that none of them seem to actually know that you can't get a "normal vagina" installed. For the trans, it seems they see it as the end of their journey.

Maybe they are just coping, or maybe they literally have just been told this is where the trans journey ends and they think that now they're an adult. When they can afford the surgeries their journey will be complete.

I truly believe that most of these people lie about reality because they either want more people to be damaged like them, or because it would go against the current narrative and they would get crucified (like it happens to the de-transitioners).

Down a rabbit hole regarding Body Dysmorphic Disorder vs Gender Dysphoria this morning.

One study; Medical Body Modification in BDD & GD, although obviously in favour of medical intervention for gender dysphoria, recognises that more studies need to be done. The similarities are recognised between the two, however they say that GD is not a mental disorder (despite the overlap with BDD).

Note how BDD is referred to as an untreatable delusion, and that enabling the delusion makes the individual seek more and more ways to affirm and alleviate the discomfort? Seems similar to GD doesn’t it?
BDD is recognised as what it is, and drs say they can’t properly consent to ,?? surgical intervention because of the mental impairment. That long term risks aren’t properly being considered. Again, very similar to GD right?
Symptom relief is only short term for those with BDD who get cosmetic surgery, but it’s the same with GD. Whatever they do, it is never enough.

Even if MBM actually leads to a beneficial outcome, the available, mostly retrospective, low-quality data from predominantly adult samples suggest that there is a realistic concern that a patient with BDD will sooner or later develop new appearance preoccupations that need fixing (e.g. through re-operation or modification of the same or another body part) and so forth

Children and adolescents with GD have a very high rate of getting over it, yet out of fear of being deemed transphobic, reasonable therapies are abandoned (because that’s conversion therapy!!). So instead of letting teens know that puberty is okay to go through, and that all the discomfort and horror at the human body is normal, they are being pushed into seeing enabling gender therapists who push them into screwing up their bodies.
(The study uses the 2% transition regret rate with no source, which made me pretty mad. It also says that hormone blockers are reversible with no source, although I can only see this being entirely true if they are used in correct situations and for a short period of time, then normal puberty is permitted at a better age.)

I’m really looking forward to seeing more accurate and uptodate statistics. We all know the regret rate is far higher than the 1-2% we see thrown around. I’d it was that low I can’t see there being a subreddit for it, or all these detransitioners in the media.
