Ehh, I don't think they'll ever realize that. Progressives have this idea in their head that, as long as you aren't hurting(and yes! Mean words hurt!) other people(non-whites), then you should be allowed to do whatever the fuck you want without any limitations.

So even if some of their leaders start noticing the problem with troons and try to sideline them, they will end up losing support from the fanatic Progressives, who are very loud and in control of most Universities, allowing for other leaders to rise up who support the troons.

I sincerely think that the Progressives/Left as a whole are doomed in the long run, because they preach an ideology of everything being allowed, and that will eventually push enough people against them that they will end up losing most of their power.

Or, in the worst case, they will keep pandering to degenerates, the number of degenerates will keep growing and outnumber the silent majority, then the degenerates will reach critical mass and society won't be able to bear their weight anymore, leading to a terrible crisis that could spell the doom of the modern society.

This type of nonsensical rhetoric is a great example of what these types view as an "own" or a "gotcha" and demonstrates their either unwillingness, or more probable, inability to understand perspectives that differ from their own from a genuine place of good faith.

I believe what is being witnessed is a "fairness" strategy succeeding in what I assume was an LD debate, in the most embarrassing way.

Basically the topic is unfair because reasons and so long as the judges vote on fairness (more on that later) and the argument is well presented, you can win by arguing the debate itself is unfair, which strictly speaking has been possible for years.

One used to be able to google "fairness is not a voting issue", the calling card of a judge that wants nothing to do with ridiculous meta-debates who will zero competitors doing this, and find results from paradigms judges posted (the explanation of how they judge that they are required to make available to competitors they judge beforehand).

It is perhaps telling that I am now not finding results, anywhere on the internet apparently, for "fairness is not a voting issue".

When nobody will ding you for fairness arguments, winning is a lot easier: a lot of debate is prep, and if you don't need to prep an "oh fuck we can't fairness our way through a judge that votes zero consistently" backup case that actually addresses the topic, all the better.

Broadly, LD is like a world unto itself and has been ever since it became clear the easiest way to win is be intimately familiar with and able to cite postmodern philosophy so every time normal people witness these "debates" they come away wondering what the hell happened to debate since they often resemble nothing that looks like debate. There is something very "current year" about trannies whining their way to a national win even if the strat they are using really wouldn't be out of place 25 years ago, just with different reasons why the topic isn't fair.
