Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

It's a new mold but definitely has similarities to Siege/ER. Wouldn't be surprised if they used it as a base to build off of. I noticed the extremely Siege looking head immediately.

Apparently they said it's around Commander size.

I personally like it even though it does look awkward in some places.
If it wasn't Megatron I'd like it more. I may get one to switch out the head and give it new paint job to be it's own character.

They would need to upscale it. The Ultimate one doesn't need an upscale, just needs a retool and can stand up with the H.I.S.S Tank shell

Pulse has it for $89.99
I wish they rescaled shit more often honestly, or at least reused some of the cooler parts. The Collectors club Combiner wars Toxitron head being upscaled for POTP nemesis prime was a pleasant surprise. The connector and head for siege/earthrise prime/magnus is apperently the same size as the Combiner wars one which makes it all the morestrange to me that they never utilized that, much like it's weird to me how the grimacing beast wars megatron head only showed up in some manufacturing error batches of kingdom beast wars megatron and the teeth were just painted on for the figure that used teeth deco.

I stand by the fact it should've been soundwave like the SDCC DTC HISS recolor was.

Commander? That justifies the price a bit more, it’s been awhile since we’ve had a fukhuge Megatron.

Well it does have to fit a 3.75 inch retro Baroness. A voyager wont do that unless the H.I.S.S shell was some form of super armour. Soon as it was leaked on Gamestop it mentioned it came with Baroness.

You cant see it but predaking is shitting himself off screen

It's apparently bigger than G2 Megatron. It's supposed to be the same size as a regular HISS Tank though, but IIRC Hiss Tanks are tiny. So he either compresses a ton or the tank is not to scale with the original 80's HISS.

Most of it is either on the back or the shoulders. It's why Baroness can still fire the turret on top.

Looking at the figure comparison baroness is 3.5 inches and looks like it takes almost 3 of her to match Megaton's height. So it's going to be very close to G2 in height in seems but in weight and width he's going to be larger.

Now here's a question just how expensive is GI Joe Optimus is going to be? He could get away with a $150 price tag probably especially if his trailer becomes a Joe sized base.

She's 3.75

I think Optimus will be something like the Chimera or the Rescue Opc 4x4

Remindsme of the aesthetic the RED series was going for before they started straying into various other artstyles.
I wish I could afford a fucking 3d printer and had the proper environment for it, much like an airbrush and pretty much any other craft shit that requires a certain amount of cash and space andit's the fucking bane of my existence whenever a tutorial on how to make shit just goes "OK NOW DOWNLOAD AND 3D PRINT THESE FILES" but yeah thats another story.
I remember seeing a really cool 3d printable scorponok and dinobot design a few years ago those would be cool to have but not atthe prices people that have actually printed the things out have charged for.

I'd like someone to do one of those drone Decepticons seen in the cartoons so I can print out a dozen or so of those.

I lucked into a printer for free after a family member passed , but yeah the price is a big issue , a 2nd hand one might be good , as for space i have my printer in a corner of my living room and it fits fine

Be nice to get a copy as it's limited to 600 copies.

Home 3D printers aren't really to the point where you can make anything approaching production quality for a posable action figure. FDM printers (the most common kind) have very visible layer lines and thus are still not suitable for small detailed figures, and resin printers (becoming more common) have great detail but resin is toxic and not a particularly good material for ball joints and moving parts.

The best bet would be to design an FDM frame with resin parts that glue onto it. That will get you as close to production quality as you could achieve at home.

PLA+ is fine for slow moving parts. Carbon Fibre is also good but you'll need a better nozzle. Resin is as toxic as any other plastic when it comes to fumes. At worst you'll just get a headache. The bad thing about it is if you sand it. You'll want a vacuum/ fan set up and a mask so you don't breathe it in. PEEK is supposed to be the best when it comes to moving parts.

It's also going to depend on your filament
such as
Current Spydermaker
I would turn any supports into "greygoop" to smooth out any layer lines that may appear, but tinker with your prints to get it perfect.

I remember a few years ago how I got that one "limited to 300 pieces" version of the train optimus cause it was marked down to a price within my price range. Surprised that one didn't sell as well as other 3rd party figures honestly. It was also before 3rd party figures became almost solely a "g1 toon masterpiece stand-in" scale thing. God, it does not feel like i was 5 or 6 years ago but hey, corona and polimtics do wonders.
