Correct. "Trans history" is not a real thing. Testoterone was first isolated in 1935. Injectable estrogen was first available in 1938. Estogen pills were first available in 1941. You cannot have trans before the things that make trans happene even exist.

Even the title was a mistake: when I read "Before Gender" I instantly thought "GC discussion of sex-based roles and stereotypes through history", not "troons retconning history to fit the narrative".

Other than eating disorders I can't think of another mental condition with such a small historical footprint, schizophrenia is vanishingly rare and there are still 200-plus year old medical records documenting it. For more common things like depression you can find it in ancient history. Same for cancer, stroke, heart attack, etc., those all have documentation from ancient times. The closest thing to proof would be "third genders" but those were culture-specific and almost always an excuse to take on roles reserved for the opposite sex, not dissatisfaction with one's anatomy.

I'm always amazed that they even think that arguing that it's not a mental disorder actually helps them since the whole argument that what they're doing is "health care" hinges on it. Homosexuals argued that it wasn't a mental disorder because they wanted the medical profession to leave them alone. Meanwhile, trannies want to have the cake and eat it too. Because if it's not a mental disorder, then it's just elective surgery that you can pay for yourself. It's an odd self-own.

Lance says it pretty explicitly, it's an attempt at a defense against the 'trannies are all mentally ill' argument often heard from the right (and a lot of normal people). It's not a very good defense but the idea is to indeed make an equivalence to the gay movement (hence also the forcing together in the alphabet soup of LGBTWhatever). Trannies are just normal people they want to be left alone, just play sports, just go to the bathroom like everyone else bla bla bla. It only really works superficially and in woke places.

The extreme lefties even take this whole argument a step further, PhilosophyTube for example argues that the healthcare system should just be fully run on an 'informed consent' basis, which boils down to just giving the patient whatever the hell he wants because you can assume he knows who he is and what he needs. I'm sure you've heard the 'trans people (or even kids) know who they are' screed.

The troon ward only holds 40 people. Not Alex's "hundreds of trannies."
