Honestly this Chet dude could have his own thread, and for some reason he loves to call men he dislikes "little boys." More than a little strange.
There are no little boys in here, stalker child, it is only your mind playing tricks on you. Your life is already over, just wait for the knock. :tomlinson:
Almost a little to similar to a certain chubby's cheesesteak lover who likes to refer people with a "no, stalker child"
FUCK, beaten to the joke :DDDDDD

Someone posted some more epic Chet video on 4chan so I'm dehumanizing him here for reddit points.
It really makes me wonder how someone like this could have ever written for Valve. His own strawman arguments don't even make sense, even a retard arguing in bad faith would recognise that the issue with mixed bathrooms isn't the fact that women don't want to use a bathroom a man has previously used and that it's instead a private area without cameras where a tranny will be actively trying to rape them.

Chet's retardation aside, I thought Tyler had him on a fair few livestreams years ago? I seem to remember Tyler really trying to make it seem as though they were friends in order to gain some sort of strange legitimacy for his spurious claims.

For what its worth, he's both had years to Rot mentally, and Valves writing is about as collaborative and iterative as their code and art development. If he'd tried to go full retard on anything, it'd get feedback'd and iterated away from that. The thing about being used to that kind of environment is that you get used to saying the first thing that comes to mind, because your team might be able to iterate and improve upon it, and turn a close miss into a winning concept. But remove the man from that environment, and he's going to be throwing out the dumbest shit, with nobody around to check it back into reality.

Rare good McNigger video. I can't wait for HL3, fucking finally Gabe is blessing us.
Since I don't sit in Valve-related datamining Groomcords all day like he does, I genuinely do like Tyler's datamining videos because they're digestible and to-the-point (use SponsorBlock to skip his sponsors) while explaining what the datamined shit actually means. If there were any other sources for this shit other than Tyler then I would gladly watch them, but Gabe Follower uploads infrequently, WaterCS2 basically is a watered-down regurgitation of whatever Tyler says, and I really don't want to have to interact with Discord communities, I prefer the slop updates spoonfed to me by my own leisure on YouTube.

What really intrigued me from this video, is the assumed advancement in NPC AI. How they change reaction to things in their environment from sight, hearing, and even smell. If this is legitimate that would be insane. I was confused with what he meant of an npc can change navmesh swiftly. Is this referencing the character look can change from being damage or getting dirty or is this referencing some body morphing enemy? With how it sounds with the advancement of physics, NPC AI, and environment reaction. This must be something that Newell envisioned in leap of technology he wanted for Half-Life 3.

Wonder if Freeman will have some new technology that can influence or change the environment and some mechanic in leading resistance npcs?

With this new squad-based gameplay, who's up to make the first school level?

It'd make the most sense, as Game AI has barely advanced since Half Life 2. The tech and potentials always been there, but most gameplay designers can't be bothered to make a smart AI, because its a huge amount of work to create an equally smart environment for them to act in and upon. Easier to make a dumb AI, then give it stat scalers for difficulty and call it a day. Even praised AI systems of back then like FEAR were only marginally smarter than what we have now, and instead did an excellent job 'pretending' to be smart via communication.

They already did this in Half Life 2. Antlion pods to mark enemies, the squad following you around later in the main game and episodes, the antlion tunnel defense in the episodes, etc. Really is an evolution of a few ideas they started with back in the day, the question will be how far they take it, if that is where they are focusing their efforts.

For what its worth, I do hope this is the focus, and even hope it leads to a wider shift in the industry, like how a lot of games tried being physics games after HL2 came out. We hit the point of diminishing returns for graphics a decade ago - Yes, new things do look better, but the jumps have gone from astronomical to marginal, and sometimes games are even regressing, now. We hit the point of diminishing returns for story and content in the last decade as well. Might be a controversial take, but they're trying to do so much that they degrading into burnout as they overuse the same sets of mechanics over and over to try and shove endless content down your throat, and its diminishing the quality of the whole experience. And that's not even starting on the increasingly aggressive monetization they're forced to employ to try and cover the cost of producing a hundred hour game instead of a forty hour one.

AI meanwhile, is a huge space to advance and develop in, as its a multiplier to every single other element of the game. Do you have fun core gameplay systems with combat? Smart AI adds a whole new realm of depth to it, especially when they become capable of using those systems on you. Trying to create an immersive world experience? Better AI provides better feedback to world interactions, grounding the whole experience. A little goes a long way with AI advancements.

He just put out a video saying new TF maybe, after his new Doom video.

"I don't want to talk about this". Why is he forcing himself to sound so apathetic like a bitch? This is the same guy who's made his career about Valve because of Team Fortress. I'd say something like 80% of the revenue he's ever made on YouTube is from TF. He's obsessed with Valve because of TF. Half the money he's ever earned has probably been put in to TF cosmetics lmao.

stfu Tyler you would scream and cry x10 harder than you did when the Half-Life VR game was announced if a new TF came out. Bozo.

You'd think he'd be making videos on Deadlock since it's the hottest Valve shit rn. He was when it was just called Citadel, is it because he can't "report" exclusive news anymore? lmao
