Underrail appreciation thread - aka Serbia life simulator

I really should play again, but the battery thing really put me off. Call it miniscule, but I was an energy weapons/shield/utility boy so things start getting fuckt realy quick.
Oh yeah. I prefer mid to low tech playthroughs most of the time. If you go with metal plates for armor and craft yourself a bling bling set, you won't even need a shield. Hell, it's almost detrimental to go with one: metal armor lacks resistance to electric damage and an EMP will fuck you up if you have too many charged electronics on you. You'll still want one for certain areas though. Just keep it in your inventory.

I'm just pissed the one thing that could solve all my energy problems is so late in the game.
Im gonna cheat it in this time fuck it.

I like temporal and psyhokinetics myself
My main problem with the TK side of psychokinesis

You mean super steel? It's pretty manageable if you rush the Oligarchs and Foundry quest. Real hard part is getting high quality materials to work with in my experience. I'm not going to lie: I used Cheat Engine to force merchant refresh because I wasn't satisfied with mid or low-high quality stuff. Would've just spent forever reloading and waiting (running underrail in the background while I do other stuff) like I did before knowing there was CE for it.
I love the lore surrounding psionics and the fact most go batshit insane. All of them knowing about and being drawn toward the monoliths and Oculus really fires up my neurons. What you see in the Abyssal Station and Black Sea temple could make Lovecraft proud.

Look if I save the world by getting high on battery acid and psionic shrooms every 2 minutes, then so be it.
This is totally not an excuse to feed my rampant addictions.

Nah the one armor vest you get from going coretech. Also annoying it's a faction thing, buut whatever it looks fucking snazzy and I only need to replace a battery instead of juggling multiple.

There was this one game I was looking forward to that was like this game. "encased" https://store.steampowered.com/app/921800/Encased_A_SciFi_PostApocalyptic_RPG/ apparently the ukraine shit fucked it up because the publisher is ghosting the devs - to the point of NOT EVEN PAYING THEM, cuz muh russia, so no updates anymore which fucking sucks.

Either way both lovecraftian as fuck. Shame the second half is unifhsed as hell (you can still beat the game at least)

Snuffing shroom extract, slurping beetle brains, eating pickled super shrooms, shooting octopus fluid, and injecting crab brains.
Psions can get addicted to their powers too, going by the Psiderm oddity.
Tranquil or Psychosis, you are on the path to madness, but you're likely to mistake it for transcendental infinity.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. My last energy pistol build was ages ago.

Huh. I don't remember having an issue getting quality 120+ stuff. (Which really, is all you need to craft shit that breaks the game over your knee). I did go out of my way to try and unlock merchants' hidden inventories though, which seem to improve the quality of materials they sell.

i'm talking 150-160 here, man
i play on dominating exclusively

Oh that makes sense. I'm not hardcore enough for dominating.
Where is your motivation?
Man Vs Pig God Spoiler is Man wins.jpg
This build is also the only one that can do Carnifex justice. Sure, it takes forever since he has an absurd amount of health on DOMINATING with his 16 fucking con, but it's the best experience.
yeah im that guy.jpg

It was an honor, Carnifex. I won't forget you for as long as I live.

Nigger is on another level. He wakes up in the morning and eats microchips to supplement his iron intake.

I played dominating once, cried, then rebooted normal again to try my shitty gun-fu build. I play hard only with builds I mastered.

It is really addicting once it all falls into place. Normal and hard just won't do it for you anymore. You'll have perfected a build to the point they may as well be easy by another name. Gun-fu builds are extraordinarily stretched thin. Not really optimal or wise to play on DOMINATING with. The only really hard part for me is the beginning. Even then, you're talking to a guy who cleared pre-DOMINATING nerfed Silent Isle where all the beetles were Goliaths rather than just two with the build I posted. Depot A is Depot A. Moltovs, caltrops, and doors will clear anything. I mostly beeline to the circuit drive through the underground vents these days though. Purging the entire place just costs a lot for little unless you're playing on Classic experience.

How the fuck do I beat rathound king on hard? @God of Nothing

I'm playing guns+throwing constitution armor build and I can't for the life of me get trough the third attack round. Either he takes 80% of my HP with one crossbow shot or two elder rathounds rape me.

Fill the entire place with caltrops, preferably poisoned for more chip damage, to slow advance. You want to avoid getting hit entirely by some enemies unless you have almost max resist. Light the room on fire with moltov after moltov. If you have nets, that'll save you some time by slowing one of the big bastards down for a single turn. It's a bit early for gas grenades, which you'll only really need on DOMINATING for him.

I typically bait him away from his furries by laying down a gas grenade two tiles away from the entrance. He, being the only one that can disarm it, runs over and occupies the one tile outside. I close the doors behind him and proceed to annihilate him with non-psi builds. With psi, I premediated Mental Breakdown him and follow it up with an Enrage so he kills everything for me before I kill him. Stuns are your friends because the ancients are immune to it.

Caltrops and grenades really do solve everything. (They're also how I deal with those crawlers in the deep caverns because FUCK CRAWLERS.)

Since you go solo all the time you really need to invest in trapping or stealth or you will get gaped just from the sheer action economy.

Was motivated by this thread to finish my latest bare fist god run.
Underrail has the best feeling of progression in any RPG I've ever played, especially on DOMINATING.
Pillars of Eternity 2 comes close, especially with the more ai mod, and a mod to turn almost every skill into per encounter. So I don't have to micromange everyone. But I really fucking hate the politics in the game.
Because my stats has absolutely no bearing to it.

Also any of you guys know how to add items into the game? Apparentlly the dev removed console commands.
