The door opening is never explained, it just closes up again, also they never return to the dark world in ch3 but start in it in ch4. I just feel like something eventful was missed in the transition.
Well yeah, that’s the idea. We also didn’t see Kris get the pie at the end of Chapter 1, but we still know it happened.

Quick rant about "group call theory" for chapter 4: it is retarded.

Why would the game go to great lengths to establish that Spamton had private calls with a mysterious benefactor over an old-ass rotary phone in both chapters 2 and 3, where third parties, even if they tried to listen in on it, could not hear anything but garbage noise? Only to later drop the idea of a "conspiracy group call" on the player's head?

It feels like an overcomplicated thought that absolutely does not pass Occam's Razor. In the overwhelming majority of cases in media, phone calls symbolize private 1-to-1 conversations. You have to make it very clear to convey the idea that there are multiple people involved.

Fuck the idea that Kris is contacting a "group", fuck the idea that "the voice is black because it's coming out of a Dark World". It's just more unnecessary complication.

The simplest explanation? The voice is black because it's the voice of the Knight, a singular entity who's a fucked up darkness monster that is 100% black, exactly like the speech bubble. The one individual Kris is clearly and obviously shown to be colluding with.

knight being the mysterious benefactor of spamton, therefore also the one who made jevil go insane is an interesting idea. but i guess we'll see in chapter 5

I agree. I like that the call Kris gets at the end is different depending on if you're normal or snowgrave, as if the Knight or whomever is disgusted with you thornringing Noelle and won't return your calls

That could be it, but I took it as:

Normal route: The voice (almost definitely Carol, who is almost definitely not the Knight) keeps doing its thing and discussing the plan with Kris, while warning him not to get too close to Susie because she’s not part of their plan (prophecy breaker).

Weird route: The same voice (who doesn’t even try hiding the fact that it’s Carol since she’s talking about a conversation she had with Noelle) tells Kris about Noelle’s compliance since it’s their chance to continue the plan (and prophecy?).

Could be Carol, could be the Knight, could be Gaster. Too early to tell. All we know about Carol is that she doesn't want a gay or dead daughter and that she thinks highly of Kris. Could just be a quirky red herring.

so why does the voice say "ill be right there" when susie gets the guitar and then carol shows up? then the simplest explanation would be that the voice is carol.
although i agree with the general sentiment. in that same scene we see kris make the phone call. did he dial two numbers at the same time? seems unlikely

Well carol hates rain, we know it from... the fucking spamton sweepstakes I HATE YOU RADIATOR!!! hence there is no way that she is the knight unless if underground tunnels are involved. wait why the fuck does the shelter sound effect plays in the basement FUCK YOU TOBY

this is why i hate this entire sequence, i don't even know if there is only one caller involved because they refer to kris in third person GO FUCK YOURSELF. my brain is fucking disintegrating i hate chapter 4

The call is two people. Carol and the knight.

One has red text. I think the red text is Carol.

that wouldn't make sense because the whole context of that scene is that kris is reporting to the voice that susie got the guitar. why would it then randomly mention going to the church?
Because the Church has another part of the code. Why do you think the place is trashed after the Dark Fountain is sealed? Someone was turning over every stone to try and find the code. Remove one piece of the puzzle, and they won't be able to prosneed

Aren’t you all forgetting who shows up right after the voice says “I’ll be right there”?
