So if I understand correctly, cheaters paid $6000 for cheating devices, and the anticheat caught them, and this proves anticheat is bad.
Sure, but what happens if the ani-cheat gives a false positive and THIS happens? Not defending cheaters, just explaining how this is bad.

You're all probably going to negrate me to hell for this but someone's gotta deliver the blackpill considering we're dealing with filthy ricenigger commies: They don't care if there's gonna be false flags or hackers exploiting the borderline malware, it ain't their issue because the cheap, faulty, very spyware-like anticheat does what they need it to. That's the chinese way of doing business and its always been.

In the end nothing will happen despite the PR nightmare. The class action lawsuit will go nowhere because it's a ching chong bing bong company, where doing this is legal, and they'll manage to shield themselves from violating multiple ftc laws because GLORY TO THE CCP or some shit.

This is why they're gloating that they're installing malware in zoomer computers; because they can do so with complete immunity. They give china money, china will not throw them under the bus unlike the american government, because commies look out for one another.

>the most utterly incompetent and china cock-sucking company in the entire universe has the ability to remotely brick your hardware
>hackers aren't able to ruin your eletronic toy and take away your hard-earned elo (imaginary numbers). Maybe.

Yeah sounds like an absolute reasonable tradeoff to me. Go Riot!
I have a friend who plays at mid to high elo and his games still have cheaters and looking at his replays I'm inclined to believe him, granted it's slightly less compared to other games with weaker ACs. All this dick measuring that riot does on social media is just a distraction. People like to claim that everything is fine but there is still firmware out there that's undetected (to my knowledge) if you are willing to shell out the cash for it.

All this to say that while Vanguard certainly helps curb the cheaters, it's just not worth having your PC turned inside out like a 5$ hoe just to get cheaters every 5 games instead of every 3.

30 years ago now Bungie nearly bankrupted themselves because they fucked up with Myth. Uninstalling the game would brick your computer and it would need to be reformatted.

Now Riot today is bricking people's computers in an attempt to stop people from cheating in their game. Nothing will happen to them most likely. If anything it will probably make investors cream themselves because they love the idea of being able to destroy someone's device for "tampering" with a product they own.

What changed? Why are we so cucked?

The moment an engaging and fun sport/activity turns professional is the moment it dies.

It happened to sports first. Now it happens to videogames.

I never knew Faglorant could ever be based even by mistake for bricking cheater hardware. What next? Gabe Newell buys a gold mine on a whim and by mistake finds Agartha without drinking a monster energy drink only to become more powerful than Allah and Yakub combined?

The Device isn't my issue. Fuck the device. I'd just rather not have random parts of my PC bricked, at seeming will, by a smug tech tranny.
It's not a "random device bricked at will." It's a device that tries to spoof an NVMe drive so it can attack the memory of a running program. This is full-on malware behavior. If nobody should be allowed to write software that responds to an attack like this, you're basically saying malware defense should be illegal.

The fact that this particular malware-like behavior comes from game cheat device, and the device is such a piece of shit that a basic bitch defense mechanism bricks it is actually pretty immaterial. You're trying to bypass security defenses at the operating system level with an unsigned device. If that device bursts into flames, that's on you.

You deserve this if youre degenerate enough sully your PC with Riot shit.
Problem is precedent dude. If this is acceptable, all it takes is 1 false positive and they can brick a computer that DOESN'T have cheat bs. Maybe in the future they release new ai hardware, or whatever the fuck, but as soon as you plug it in anti cheat fries your system because it THINKS its a cheating device.

Yes, absolutely unacceptable, but this is very possible now, and this tripled my fear of kernal level anti cheat

Bungie nearly bankrupted themselves because they fucked up with Myth
Bungie nearly bankrupted themselves because they were developing games for no one. Oni sucked and was expensive to make. Myth required expensive traditional animators and didn't sell. And Halo was stuck in development hell.

Also their original fanbase abandoned them when they stopped developing for the Mac.

These fucking game developers need to jump off a bridge if they think they're entitled to have that much control over my computer to play a fucking video game. Being treated like a fucking prison from the very moment I boot up a multiplayer game is the entire reason I stopped giving a shit about any kind of PvP gaming. Seriously, I am not giving a fucking game developer access to parts of my PC reserved for my GPU, CPU, and RAM. Your fucking compslop is not that important.
