What does that have to do with fucking up everyones day by cheating? I know im in the extreme minority here but anyone who has ever played competitively knows that people doing this kind of shit just fuck it up for everyone else.

Riot isn't trying to brick my car. They're not trying to brick my house. Yeah I get it, slippery slope and all that but... I just dont care.

So if I understand correctly it's not as bad as bricking and mainly done by triggering a flag that already exists on Windows. But still overkill for what amounts to cheating in an online game, with the important question if it will be triggered for any "infringment" of bullshit EULA that is non negotiable.

If you play video games "competitively", you seriously should try to find a hobby that doesn't involve being a massive fag.

To me, what's more concerning is the fact that everything works so ass-backwards nowadays that there's a good chance some jeet at Riot Games will fuck something up and this bricking will affect normal systems. Then if something like this becomes widely used (because a big company like Riot uses it, so everyone has to try it), there's a bigger chance of this going sideways. I don't care if you love or hate cheaters. The fact that this is even possible in the first place and that someone has this much control over your hardware is fucking nuts.
 
It is pretty ridiculous to pay that much to cheat in a game and it's funny to see people suffer for doing something stupid.
But, no video game should even have the ability to access my pc on that level.

Cheating is only such a big problem for online games, because you are forced into their match making system. You don't need any anti-cheat if you can create private lobbies or private servers.

I agree and the original implementation of this anti cheat was when I quit playing lol it was always a game would fire up once every few weeks.
At some point you have to let the retard fall into the woodchipper.
 
"Make the anti cheat kill the user" posters ain't gonna be laughing when they log on to the Neo-Farms through their brainchip as usual but the glowies have replaced Tartarus with black ICE and they flatline

Essentially this, but there's a power imbalance between some idiot using cheats and a company pushing software that can attack your devices. Malware or no, brick or no, there should be boundaries to what companies can do, and that should be one.

You are in the wrong and the things you make excuses for are also wrong. It's wrong and unreasonable, no matter what you or the people who feed you this bullshit tell themselves. You can pretend everyone else is retarded till you're blue in the face, it doesn't actually change anything. Roll your eyes all you want. Smack your lip and sigh. Your videogame should not break parts of your computer. It is wrong and it is unreasonable.

This affects everyone who bought this game because now they are all at risk the corpo will harm their stuff. It affects everyone else because it encourages similar abuse from other corpos. It's just wrong. Inappropriate. No ToS or excuse, or lie can make it otherwise.
