Podcaster Ben Kissel Is in Treatment for His Mental and Physical Health​

Ben Kissel is one of the hosts of 'The Last Podcast on the Left,' but he's taking time away from the show to focus on his mental and physical health.

  • Ben Kissel has been absent from recent episodes of The Last Podcast on the Left.
  • His fellow hosts say that he is taking time away from the show to focus on his mental and physical health.
  • Ben is also facing allegations that he was abusive and mistreated a woman during their relationship, although it's unclear whether those allegations are connected to his absence from the show.
On any great podcast, the chemistry between the hosts is key. It's what makes you want to listen for hours on end and establishes a certain feeling of comfort between the listeners and the shows they love. The Last Podcast on the Left (LOPTL) has earned a dedicated following in part thanks to the chemistry between its hosts, which is part of the reason so many people noticed when host Ben Kissel was absent from the show.

Ben hosts the show alongside Marcus Parks and Henry Zebrowski. However, a recent segment left fans wondering what had happened to Ben following the news that he would be taking a break from hosting the show.

What happened to Ben Kissel?​

During a segment on LPOTL (Side Stories: Bullet in the Backseat), Marcus and Henry discussed Ben's absence from the show and said that he was now in treatment and would be taking a break from his hosting duties.
“Ben is going into treatment but he will be back," the hosts shared, adding that he is “looking after his mental health and his physical health.” They emphasized the importance of seeking treatment, and said they had been concerned about Ben's health for "a minute."

"Sometimes we get wrapped up in it and we forget to take care of ourselves," they said. The show will continue as usual during Ben's absence, and Marcus and Henry said that they have a lineup of friends and family who will be filling in while he's out. “Mental health is not your fault but it is your responsibility,” they added.

Ben has yet to make any sort of public statement following this announcement.

There's been some speculation about abuse allegations around Ben.​

In addition to the news that Ben would be taking time away from the show for his mental and physical health, one of Ben's exes, who goes by @booboobirdie online, has made allegations about their time together. She has yet to refer to him by name, but has called this "podcaster" an alcoholic who mistreated her and said "you'll never get to drunkenly pin me to the bed and call me a pathetic f--king loser or stupid f--king b---h ever again."

In September 2023, she posted a video on TikTok addressing the allegations, although she again chose not to use any names. In her TikTok video, she discusses the way Ben's fans got her kicked off of Instagram. Clearly, then, the fan community around Ben has chosen to be fairly hostile in their interactions with her, and it's very possible that these allegations are part of the reason that Ben isn't currently on the show.

LPOTL was a lot funnier when they were allowed to mock the killers victims. These days its three straight hours of what their childhood was like (which often just sounds like child abuse to me, since wow serial killers actually do generally come from poor and shitty homes, despite whatever the psychologists say) and then maybe ten minutes on the actual killings and manhunt.

That said, I hope they tell the cancel crew to go fuck themselves and continue as normal when Ben gets out. They've always been all about telling the man to go fuck himself and I expect the same here.

I stopped listening to LPOTL about 3 years ago when Henry and Ben started talking about their gay lefty/breadtube political opinions in every other episode.

I do remember thinking that Ben had that creepy “I’m a progressive goodboy who has the right opinions, may I please have a crumb of pussy now” vibe. Henry just got annoying because of his “hey guys did you know I was in A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE? IN HOLLYWOOD? IM ALSO A BIG DEAL ON ADULT SWIM YA KNOW” constant self-fellating.

Marcus was never intolerable because he just seemed like a regular ass dude.

Rate this 🗿 if you want, but tl;dr: I’m genuinely not surprised at the rape “accusations”

Marcus shitted on Gamergate by name and spewed a ton of "bash the fash/anyone conservative is a nazi and your a nazi if you are seen in public with someone who the left has deemed a Nazi" bullshit. Which is hillariously hypocritical in that by his own definition, both Henry AND Marcus are nazis given that Ben was on Tucker Carlson and a couple of other Fox News shows in the podcast's early years in order to bring in money to keep the podcast going prior to them setting up their Patreon.

Also, I've mentioned in the LPOTL media thread, Marcus and Henry are probably burning YEARS of banked favors from the SJW press to keep Ben's scandal from gettign covered in the SJW press to keep LPOTL from being canceled. And that Ben's departure might be Kabuki Theater where they fake fire him since their fans have been going after Ben's ex as a liar, undercutting their ability to get their SJW friends to run interference for them to bury the story.

The allegations honestly aren't even that bad. Unless I'm missing something, it was just alcoholism, some emotional issues in a relationship, and acting a little aggressive when trying to pick up a chick. No physical abuse, no sexual abuse, etc.

I'm convinced this is only a big deal because they kowtow to lefties and soy-based progressivism, so they have to react in an over-the-top fashion when one of their own even slightly messes up. It's a shame, but when you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

Look up the ex and all the red flags are there - facial piercings, shitty tattoos, dangerhair. It was like he wanted to lose his reputation/career or get hepatitis.

Well it's not like he was going to find a nice girl from church who wants to stay at home and raise his kids properly. As much as I've enjoyed LPOTL, these people are absolute degenerates. It's not surprising at all that this type of person would be the beginning of their downfall.

I always enjoyed Ben's dumb dumb humor on the main pod and side stories but christ almighty TopHat is insufferable. He was such a woke scold and covid fear monger. In a moment of curiosity I looked at Reddit to see what they were saying when this shit first was happening and they were all angry that Ben wasn't left enough. Lol. Lmao even. This is exactly what happens when you suck lefty dick too much. Oh and they all fucking live in LA now, I'm sure that's just a coincidence lol.

@Francis York Morgan she was an ethot too.

This isn’t surprising at all. I used to occasionally listen to their “big hitter” series a long time ago, and over time they just got more degenerate and repulsive. The constant “legalize it!” to prostitution whenever they were mentioned as victims was exhausting, and came off as slimy.

I made the mistake years ago of agreeing to go to one of their live shows when invited by a friend. They seemed to have significantly less chemistry in person, they all (except Henry I guess) came off as being very ‘dirty‘ in appearance, and none of the skits were funny or entertaining aside from Henry’s UFO rant. At the end of the show they had an edgy series of “gross out videos” like a guy ripping off his fingernail and they all seemed to be getting off on the audience’s moans of disgust. Would not recommend.
