He doesn't play many video games.

Like yeah, personally, I could stock shelves for four hours a day. It wouldn't be fun, but it also wouldn't be torture. But again, I can do lots of fun things in that same amount of time.

The only difference is the money.

And Chris really doesn't need money. This would be a regarded waste of his time.

Really? I'm surprised about the vidya. What does he do in an average day?

Chris DOES need money, because Barb keeps leeching it off him. Plus, having a job would give Chris a sense of self-worth and teach him the value of a dollar, and ... ah, fuck it.

Chris is out participating in group activities and running errands and pissing money away on video game bullshit and other stuff like that.

Like, people bring up legos as his money sink a lot recently. But really, he had like a 3-4 month binge where he sunk thousands of dollars into legos. And then he suddenly dropped that interest. I'm sure he plays with legos and plays video games and does a whole lot of things he used to do. But I wouldn't assume he's going to stick to any one obsession permanently. Don't be surprised when Chris switches things up suddenly and without warning.

Chris has all the money he wants.

Seriously, Chris gets hundreds or thousands dollars a month to spend on whatever he wants. Chris getting an extra few hundreds bucks a month wouldn't be a motivation to a normal person in his situation. If someone got smug with me and told me to get a better job when I was completely satisfied with my income, I'd tell them to fuck off.

Like, it's weird. Chris isn't rich, necessarily. But he pays no rent, he pays nothing for health insurance. He gets $1k+ a month. He's got credit. Chris almost lives like a rich person, if that rich person had no shame. Telling Chris he needs to get a job is really dumb, if you actually consider his situation.

That's why I said fuck it at the end there. :)

A healthier diet - this would improve Chris' overall health, and would also likely improve his mood and energy levels, not to mention a lower incidence of dirty, crapped briefs. I think overall Chris would be happier if he didn't feel so tired/sluggish/had better health numbers (blood pressure, cholesterol, etc)
I agree although people with autism are notorious for having terrible diets and being really picky eaters and since all Chris seems to eat is fast food/restaurant food and easy to cook food/microwave meals I doubt he'll start preparing and cooking meals from scratch so the only way I imagine he'd start to eat better is if he had someone making meals for him or something.

He could also cut way down on his calorie intake by drinking water instead of soda but that's unlikely to happen too.

Group activities every day? Has he found a new Game Place? Does he go mallwalking with fellow lesbians? I assume he goes clubbing every weekend. I would love to hear that he's playing Pokemon with twelve-year-olds again.

There's a whole series of temporary obsessions--Guitar Hero, LittleBigPlanet, ModNationRacers. Video games in general, though, they're such a big part of his life, I have to assume he still spends a substantial chunk of time playing games of one sort or another. If he isn't doing a lot of gaming right now, in three months he'll find another game obsession and/or the Sweetheart Search will go sour, he'll get depressed and fire up the old Nintendo.

Not every day. But he's got a a couple or more things to do in a given week.

Chris can't tell that the sweetheart search isn't performing well. But yeah, nah, I wouldn't assume he spends a large portion of his time playing video games.

Shit takes time. Particularly if you are inefficient at things.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I get the impression "shopping" takes up a decent amount of his time. Every time he goes into Charlottesville it's an hour round trip driving.

He has errands to do. Buying shit for Barb and buying shit for himself. And I am sure neither of them is organized enough to consolidate everything they want into one weekly shop.

And he seems to enjoy "shopping". Maybe it's a sense of having something to do. Maybe it is something to do with wanting to do stereotypically feminine things. Given this, he might well be happy to take a less-than-neccessary shopping trip or extend the trip by wandering around a little.

Throw in 8-9 hours of sleep and a few social activities a week, and he has a schedule. Not a jam-packed one, but not 15 hours a day of vidya either.

lol how'd you figure that out?

All he really needs is an alarm clock.

I expect he enjoys it just because it's nice to be in a clean site instead of a filthy house.

Google maps says it's 30 minutes from 14BC to Charlottesville. Thus an hour, round trip.
Speaking of, does anyone know how long it took for the rebuilt 14BC to become a hoarder's nest again?
Barb hasn't been doing that much new hoarding in recent years. It's mostly just the old hoard.

All he really needs is an alarm clock.
that's what women are for
Am i the only one looking forward to a 55 year old never-been-employed Chris talking about his retirement plans?
hmm yeah well. it's time for me to put down my crayons.
the epic of sonichu is over
then the world ends, erasing all digital copies of sonichu
and the papers are burned for fuel.

Wasn't the hoard supposed to be cleaned out so that the house could be repaired?

I believe they moved the bulk of the hoard, including fire-destroyed garbage, to the rental, then moved back the hoard, including fire-destroyed garbage, when they moved back.

This.

They also sunk a bunch of money in rent to store the toasted hoard in a storage unit.

Chris, improving?

:story::story::story: Now there's a pipe dream if I ever read one.

But in all seriousness, I really hope the CWCki doesn't shut down if that were the case. Because for all we know, he may just as easily fuck up again just as quickly.
