I’ve always been wondering for a few years now. If copyright laws were to be abolished tomorrow, what would happen to movies, tv shows, music and video games?

Will they still be available to access online?
Would Hollywood, record labels and video gaming industry destroy all of their works to prevent others from having it?
Will Putlocker, the Pirate Bay, and other sites like that still be around or will they be obsolete?
What will we lose out on if the copyright owners destroyed all their works in retaliation of a abolition of copyright?
What will there be left of Hollywood, the record labels and the video gaming industry?

Copyright laws aren't inherently bad. Of course you don't want any joe schmo saying he's made the official sequel to whatever you own. The problem is that they're outdated and horrendously mutated by the Mouse fighting tooth and fuckin nail to keep your hands off his Steamboat Willie.

sure they will

impossible, plenty of copies of everything already exist, spread across millions of devices around the globe. you can't purge data like that.

Will Putlocker, the Pirate Bay, and other sites like that still be around or will they be obsolete?
they'll stay around initially. no reason to go away, plus without copyright problems they'll have a lot less pressure on them from legal trouble.

What will we lose out on if the copyright owners destroyed all their works in retaliation of a abolition of copyright?
again, they can't destroy anything that has already been published and released to the public.

What will there be left of Hollywood, the record labels and the video gaming industry?
hard to predict, but i think that most likely not much would change.
piratcy is already extremely easy and safe for the end user, but most consumers still choose to not pirate and buy media the legitimate way anyway.
i don't think it would be a huge problem for those industries.
