I did not see the topic in question concerning lucid dreaming, but I will say that certain posters seek to muddy the waters. Therefore, anything posted on there, as anywhere else, ought to be taken with a generous measure of salt.

About a dozen of the 60 or so posts are about rape. That's ... a lot higher than it should be.
So your defense of the topics about rape and pedophilia is "it's probably a troll"? There are a lot of posts here that quote those very topics. I would've expected something a little more than an indifferent sentence about it, considering you claim to not understand what our issues are with wizardchan.
Furthermore, there is a difference between imagining something and actually doing it.
I doubt you're going to get far on this board by suggesting that cultivating a desire to attack and violate women isn't 'that bad' as long as they don't actually
do it in real life.
Concerning the manipulation - while I do not endorse such tactics myself, I will say that I shed no tears for baby boomers, whose generation has seen the ruin of the western economies, and who stands to reap a windfall from the Social Security ponzi scheme.
It was not my generation that kept ratcheting up the minimum wage so that unskilled labour cannot compete and gain experience. I used to wash dishes at a Chinese restaurant for $3/hr cash because that was the only work I could find.
Nor was it my generation who founded a government education cartel that has seen fit to send tuitions in to the stratosphere, and if that was not enough, to require that in order to receive a diploma in one field, one must take entirely unrelated classes. It is highway robbery writ large.
You're beginning to sound like a conspiracy theorist.
Therefore, concerning the pitfalls, I will not hold manipulation of parents against them. It is, after all, their parents who begot them, so it is reasonable that they be supported by them if they are unable to support themselves. The unemployment rate in the United States, if measured using pre-1994 methodologies, is a staggering
23%, and I do not think one can be reasonably expected to get a job right out of high school against those odds.
One of the criteria for being wizards is "over 30". Many of the posts on wizardchan are also entirely unrelated to "I'm having trouble finding a job". There is a rather large amount of posts that say "I just want to be a NEET all my life", with the expectation that either their parents or their undeserved "autismbux" will take care of their basic survival needs. Furthermore, as has been noted here when we talked about that topic - there's been a very large amount of blatant disrespect for the
very people that keep those wizards fed, clothed, sheltered, and with internet access.
If you're going to rely on someone to keep you from dumpster diving and sleeping in the woods, you probably shouldn't bash them and expect fucking sympathy for it. The fact that that board gives sympathy for such actions makes me (and others here) sick.
No one gives a shit that wizards are staying at home for a few years after high school, or even that they're jobless. It's not something to be proud of (though some of them seem to be), but it's not unusual. It's even a little understandable.
It's when they pull attitudes that they're entitled to be spoonfed everything they want in life without any effort on their own that "normalfags" take offense. It's a large reason why the CWCki forums exist, too, so once again it shouldn't be a surprise that we don't look kindly on other people doing the same thing as CWC himself.
Addendum - it is the norm in a good part of the world, including Italy and Spain, for one to live with his parents until marriage. It would seem that the norm concerning booting people out at age 18 is rooted in this absurd Protestant mythos.
... Another criteria for wizards is "no relationships". I rather doubt that it's the norm for someone to live with his parents until they die, never seeking any sort of employment or self-improvement the whole time.
