Well David, it's because if the business model isn't successful then it will most likely result in those developers and franchises you love so much getting shitcanned while Spencer, Bond etc. continue to stick around like parasites. You know, as we've literally just seen.

Fucking retard.

Good job owning le chuds with that pride pfp in the middle of July giant corporation!
Imagine thinking Microsoft (or any company) even bothers to read the replies to these "social media engagement" posts, much less take to heart anything that's said. Still nice to see people lighting them up though.

Imagine thinking that Microsoft (or any company) is even making these posts themselves without using an A.I. to generate engagement.

Unless it's a remote gig, it's a nonstarter. Moving to one of the most expensive locales in the US to work for a company actively shedding workforce is a retard move.
Depends on comp.

I wouldn't want to live in the Seattle area for any amount of money personally but cost of living is quickly made irrelevant if you're top talent and making bank.

BTW you should expect cuts of the 2-3% every year for big tech companies while the labour market is so weak. The calculation execs are making is that they can shed middling-to-poor performers as well as expensive but not outstanding talent and then rehire better employees from the labour pool for less money.

Not only did they use an image with the monitor messed up - they apparently just published it without even looking at it once. That's a real simple fix for a real person to make in about 5 minutes and they couldn't be bothered.

Gamepass fucking sucks now, when it first came out and was significantly cheaper and they were going all in on big releases so there was value for money it was pretty decent but now the idea of spending FIFTEEN ENGLISH POUNDS per month to rent some games? Ridiculous.

The sad thing is that it could have easily worked out if the Activision deal actually lead to some fucking games and we got a major Xbox release per month but Microsoft can't even sort that out properly. They released Doom and Oblivion Remastered in the same month instead of staggering it to get two months of sales instead of just one.

This isn't consolewars faggotry, I actually think the Series S is fine but Microsoft have been complete retards for this entire gen. Someone needs to tell them that the Series X stock hasn't been an issue for 4 years now and it'd be nice to see some fucking games released.

Phil says that good games aren't going to save Xbox. Do you doubt Phil?

Gamepass is shocking because of how central it clearly is to Microsoft's strategy and then how poorly it's intergrated into the Microsoft's ecosystem.

A very easy thing to do (on paper) is to have some type of Gamepass Ultimate that just provides absurd value for the MS Ecosystem. Like $30 a month for Gamepass EXTREME - and it is just basically every paid battlepass (like CoD) and bundled into subscriptions (like WoW subs).

I'm not sure why they haven't packaged it into something much bigger.

the series s is whats holding xbox back from having any full potential. a simple series x or s mode in games would probably help things but idk if xbox allows that to be an option in the games published on the platform.

Because Microsoft are fucking retards and none of the studios know what the fuck is going on.

I recently picked up Tony Hawk's 3+4. Microsoft owned, published by Activision. To play user created parks you have to sign in with an Activision account. You'd think that a Microsoft owned game would simply streamline everything into the Xbox Live service but no, another fucking account system that's useless.

Then there's Doom. Why the fuck would you need a Bethesda account now that Doom is a Microsoft property?

Then there's Forza Horizon, Horizon has its own weird social media type of site that I haven't checked in years because I don't care about sharing screenshots.

It's just a mess of account systems with bits and pieces here and there and no coherent centre point. Then Microsoft will go "I know, lets create a new account system to bring it all together" and then they'll give up on it instantly leading to ANOTHER fucking account system.

I'm browsing Game Pass right now and every game looks like the equivalent of a direct-to-VHS movie you'd see at Blockbuster (including the direct-to-video sequel you didn't know about), sprinkled with some very old "classics."

Plus way too many games where you play as a nigger. If I wanted to see niggers beating people up I'd watch "Cops."

because those games are "finished products", to patch in another account system you'd not only have to migrate everything on the backend (easier said than done), you'd also have to update all those games - for very little gain. sometimes the original studio doesn't even exist anymore.

much cheaper and easier to just keep the service running, then shut it down at some point so everyone has to migrate.

All the new hardware has given us is uglier games with dev times reaching 10 years+ per game.

Is Series S really holding anything back? Or just preventing even more retarded practices.

They seem to be keeping Bethesda and Activision at arms length, maybe for regulatory reasons? Or to leave the opportunity to sell them / spin them off in the future?
