I'm not sure if it took huge balls to admit that you used to be bullied by a guy like Alex or not but lmao.

This also explains why he "wanted to make a game about a hipster piece of shit [...] who hasn't grown up yet..." And chooses the postmodern 'he needs to change but doesn't in the end'. Andrew can't move on from a guy who... I guess made fun of him in a flowery passive aggressive way??

Wait, is that why Michael is more focused on all the key art for the update? Maybe Micheal is Andrew's real self-insert.

Don't listen to liminalspaceship, he's one of Hellkrai's friends who moderates the YIIKcord and he loves to start shit with everyone.

As for Hellkrai, there is a lot to about him and none of it good. I could go on forever all about how much of a piece of shit Hellkrai is, but for now all I'll say is this:

Hellkrai has the hallmarks of a lolcow, he is a manipulative abusive piece of shit who loves the wish death to those who he percieves as evil. As you can imagine, most of these people are either those who criticize the media he likes or people who stood up to him and his bullshit. In one of posts in this thread, someone posted some tweets and a google doc Hellkrai made in order to cancel one of the other YIIK fans for being "manipulative and abusive". All that started because Hellkrai got mad at her over Pokemon.

Ever since this interaction, Hellkrai would constantly talk shit behind her back and mock her for being trans, which is ironic considering Hellkrai and the others claim to be pro-trans/LGBT+ and Hellkrai himself even considered being trans at one point. Its kinda funny in a weird way.

Hellkrai was always like this, even before he got involved with YIIK, but don't take my word for it. Here's one of Hellkrai's former IRL friends calling him out for his past behavior.

To add on to this, I found this comment in Hellkrai's RunningShine stream that confirms everything Hellrai has said RunningShine and Tehsnakere was in bad faith on purpse.

Hellkrai wants everyone to listen to what he has to say and take it seriously, but what he says has nothing of sustance or value. Everything he talks about in his video series is stuff I found in the discord that can be summarized in a few sentences or screenshots in my case. Everything else is a waste of time and only exist to stroke his ego and attack people he hates.

For how much he claims about wanting to talk about games and game developement, he is no different than any other hack gamedev who spends all their time on social media getting angry at gamers and starting shit with them on a regular basis. And much like those losers, he ran away to bluesky because of twitter's toxicity that he and others like have created and recreating again in Bluesky.

As for the "there is no cut content" line, its a reference to YIIK's lore, everything is cyclical. everything in is an endless loop that folds over itself repeatedly. Therefore any version of YIIK, demos, alpha, beta, 1.0, 1.25, 1.5 and so on, are all cannon are not "cut content".

A lot of YIIK's sercrets and lore all exist just to waste your time in order to prove a point or out of spite.

As someone who watched a bit of hellkrai's streams attacking yiik critics, he's definitely a lolcow in the making and all of his streams are extreme bad faith or some bizarre autistic venting. Someone posted some of his slapfight tweets early in the thread too.


The runningshine one is especially weird cause he keeps calling RS a "pretentious contrarian" but then pauses every 5 to pedantically spite on every single word choice. He says undertale and Persona 4 is overrated and it feels like he's only saying that to spite RS, as if he would care lol.

Like, everytime RS mentions a popular game he goes "Look at this pretentious hipster, thinking he's so cool for announcing he likes a videogame that isn't even good" and i chuckle at the projection.

It will be interesting to see if someone makes a new essay criticizing yiik 1.5 and it goes viral too and he gets triggered all over again.

Actually, the fanbase gets to decide what is "canon" and what is not since this piece of shit is never getting a sequel. Alex is canonically a racist and a sex pest, there is nothing the two brothers can do about it.
Also, I consider the Oney Plays ending as "canon", ie Alex just kills everything with LP Toss at the end and whatever retarded ending the game forces you to get doesn't happen, Alex just goes home and jerks off or something(while making everyone else watch). There is nothing the two brothers can do about this, the fanbase has spoken.

Yeah, I was referring to that post since it contained some of the stuff I saw.

One thing that post didn't archive was Hellkrai using Wikipedia as evidence of Cheryl's abusive behavior.

For someone who claims to be a rape victim, Hellkrai sure loves misusing it to talk shit and demonize people he hates. This isn't even the first time he's done something like this either.

As for Cheryl, while she isn't innocent in this either, she used to joined in the fights the others would start, but at some point she realized that throwing a fit at anyone who dislikes YIIK was stupid and self-destructive.

In that post you linked, you can see she was trying to warn the other YIIK fans about this, but they clearly hated it so they tried to cancel her and exile her out of the community. I almost feel sorry for her since she seems to actually care about the Allansons' well being, unlike Hellkrai who is only doing this for his own ego. Sad to see that the Allansons favor listening to Hellkrai and his bullshit than the people who actually care about them as a person.

As for Hellkrai, the reason he calls Undertale overrated is because he's still angry at Toby Fox for deleting the tweet supporting YIIK. As well as the fact that people would compare YIIK and Undertale and obvious people liked Undertale way more.

It’s so bizarre to me that after every that happened with YIIK, the developers camped out of the whole thing STILL thinking they’re hot shit genius game makers and everyone are just stupid haters. That’s Dobson levels of unjustified ego, Jesus Christ.

It's haunting to see a Higurashi avatar in one of the screenshots that were posted earlier, Umineko is the only other "game" I've seen have this much hate and contempt for the player and still manage to gain a fanbase

All the little text file things you can find in NG+ reek of a massive ego. There's being artsy-fartsy and then there's this stuff.
 
Has anyone been playing while Alex wears the cursed goggles? You get inter dimensional NPCs with odd lines of varying significance in different towns (except wind town?) I think the characters that appear are from the time when Brian was doing commission work. Same for the statues in the monster dens.

You know, I could be mistaken in this opinion, but I really respect Brian’s work in all of this. He very much seems to be the quiet craftsman type, with the most I’ve ever heard him talk was during an informational stream showing his modeling process. Though odd, his modeling style made Yiik distinctly Yiik looking, if that makes sense. I wish the talk sprites had just been switched to sprites derived from the 3d models, but I think they may not have touched those since their sister made the 2D sprites.

Presentation and gameplay were the two aspects that needed the most attention. Despite the story additions, some of which are cool and some meh, I really think Brian carries the game into being palatable. The Golden alpaca event is way more doable when the battle isn’t the worst slog known to man, for example.
 
The characters that appear with the goggles on are apparently the avatars of the IV play testers. The two fat homos that appear in Flag Town are literal nightmare fuel.

I finished my finals and wanted to pirate yiik 1.5 but i can't find the last update on the pirate websites i use, no one even gave a fuck to update the rom 😭

I guess it will be antonblast until its avaiable

It's only 9 bucks on GOG. Probably even cheaper if you can find a key reseller
 
I can't imagine why IV isn't up anywhere right now as you don't have to crack it or anything. The steam version will run no problems without steam installed.

I bought YIIK on sale but I'm so burned out of gaming that I probably wouldn't even install it until mid 2025, now I only play pixelshit roguelikes in small 10-minute sessions
