His cancellation was retarded, he was awkward weirdo that chatted with a 17-soon-to-be-18-year-old woman that didn’t include any sexual activity or even nudes. She was so traumatized by the autistic flirting that she waited 4 years to make a call out. He should have just released the full chat logs, said I made a mistake but I’m just autistic and couldn’t read social norms and been done with it.
And that would probably have worked well if it was left there.
Everyone keeps talking about Molly Dwyer's story because it's easily the most depraved and salacious element of the Ed Piskor saga. Had that been the entirety of it, Ed might have been able to use that defense and promise to do better, maybe make a donation to an art hoe charity or something and moved on with his career.
A distasteful episode, but eminently survivable, especially when you read the messages dispassionately and see that it doesn't even meet the boilerplate definition of either "harassment" or "misconduct". He was just a goof who said some mildly suggestive shit to a 17 year old. If this was the worst thing Molly Dwyer has ever had to endure from men on the internet (and it really seems like it is, with all the hysterical seething she did about it), God bless her heart.

What likely put Ed Piskor over the edge was the second accusation. When Molly Wright told her story, she pushed the whole thing into "multiple women territory" as Piskor put it in his note. That's why he felt regret over the Dwyer story and raged about Molly Wright's accusation. I'm just going with the assumption that a man about to take his own life is being earnest and forthcoming about his feelings, but it really seemed he felt like Wright hit him out of left field and that he thought they were friends at one point who fucked around a couple times and drifted apart. Apparently she was spending some of that drifted apart time "warning" other women about him.
Then she not only accuses him of the blowjob thing, but added in a story that he shit talked Jim Rugg, a guy who was supposedly one of Ed's closest friends.
What does him allegedly shitting on Jim Rugg or her weird claim about Ed's Red Room sales have to do with the reason she's coming forward to bravely tell her story?
I'm inclined to believe Piskor when he said of Wright "reputation destruction is her form of aggression". She wasn't trying to stick up for Jim Rugg or call attention to some kind of professional malfeasance regarding comic sales numbers. She was trying to make Ed Piskor look like such a crooked, immoral asshole that he'd never be able to make a living again, even if it was just by making videos with his friend.

The third accusation was so laughable and stupid that even a pussy like Ed Piskor scoffed at it. A nobody, clout chasing fake geek girl titty streamer trying to make someone out to be a creep for wanting to see the goods. Prostitutes have more honor. Comic Beat has already retracted Taffeta Darling's name from their report on the situation.
If Ed were still alive I'd also advise him that women only want hot guys to draw them like one of their French girls.

So at this point, Ed Piskor had 3 accusations of sexual misconduct, has his career wrecked, his best friend disavows him publicly before even speaking to him, news crews are harassing his elderly parents, and some really vicious and vocal segments of the internet and the comic industry say he's a pedo.
That's a hell of a lot to happen to one guy in just a week and Ed Piskor wasn't resilient enough to tough it out.
Those people didn't kill him but they did make his world unbearable for a few days and that was enough for Ed.
