I don't understand.

What I know about TikTok is through osmosis. Seems like as soon as you post content you get followers but I find it hard to believe they are not bots or outright false numbers. Unless there actually is a community of 250k+ dough elementals who think this is a positive representation of a human being.

What is the engagement like in TikTok comment sections?

I've never used the app personally, but from what I understand, they blast your first couple videos to a ton of people, and then cut back. So right away, new users get that sweet, sweet rush of dopamine from likes and comments, but they'll end up chasing that high by posting often, hoping to get those views again. Also, kids are fucking dumb, and they make up the majority of users. It's like YouTube, but with an even lower bar to entry
