It's a very good sign when the pirated version is equal to or worse than the quality of the paid version.
If the pirated version is better then you screwed up big time, probably due to some kind of intrusive anti-piracy.

Naw it'll be better because I did the release myself, stripped out platform APIs entirely for the torrent build, and snuck in exclusive content just for pirate chadz.

and others don't want their name blatantly connected to KF for a number of reasons.
Probably the most relevant place for this, the 4chan thread probably wouldn't fit since the generals are kind of removed from most things on there.

Apparently 4chans /agdg/ had a discord with an emphasis on D and a guy (mccad00) who seemingly had a successful game ended up having loose lips on there... Which eventually leaked out to the wider internet, leading to the majority of his potential fanbase (people who love 1990s Metroid games) to get upset. He also made the mistake of working with some people who are sensitive to that kind of stuff and was predictably dropped when it leaked.

/agdg/ = amateur game development general

He should've just stayed anonymous on /agdg/ or sign up here under an alt to get that stuff out of his system and not mix private and business, But discord makes it so easy to send messages and get caught up in conversation so he probably already knew this fundamental truth

This isn't really game development related but I was invited here by @Lukie way back regardless. Anyway, this has nothing to do with anything, but I just wanted to mention that I figured out the shading tab in Blender and it made me feel very big brain and I wanted him to know that and to use up my invitation.

I used to hate texturing but I don't even mind it anymore. WTF I love textures now?!

That is all.

here is my previous game you can buy a physical copy of. https://www.homebrew-factory.com/game-boy/160-repugnant-bounty-gbc.html

it's cartridge only but it comes with a bunch of digital shit. if you wanna try the game before buying there's a 5$ digital version on itch... you can also just pirate it but most sites i find the game on only have older versions of it that were buggy and bad so good luck. [REV C.1] is the final release
I remember seeing this in various homebrew videos. People seem to like it. I assume it was made in GB studio?

I really should get an itch account at some point.

W-whaaaaat?!
I can't fucking believe it. That game had such a misanthropic description. I was sure that he was some furry tranny faggot!
He is Discord though...

I am rescinding like 20% of what I said and now textures are once again a blight upon mankind which must be eradicated from the surface of the earth with maximum prejudice.

Wait until you get into arguments about model file formats.

Tax: Does anyone know why computer rounding works the way it does?

I had to round to nearest 8 for snapping reasons. I saw over and over to use this math.
Code:
floor((x + half of multiple) / multiple) * multiple

There are variations of this, but that's the gist.
It works, and I know what each step is doing, but why does it work? Sounds like a dumb question (and it might be) but trying to dig deeper (especially why you add half of the multiple). The answer seems to be "it works, why do you care?".

Basically, the code is creating a situation so that we can always round down/chop off the decimal point to get the right answer. If you had the number 31, you'd want it to resolve to 32. However, if we put 3.875 (or 31/8 ) into the math.floor function as is, it would spit out 3.0 (or 24.) Adding half of the multiple number (in this case, 4) will make sure that any input that should be rounded up will be pushed up and over the "break point" after it's divided by the multiple so that it'll be rounded down to the intended output.

Edit:
The answer seems to be "it works, why do you care?".
This shit drives me insane. I hate not knowing why code works, and it frustrates me to no end when I see that "if it works, what does it matter" mindset. Imagine these redditors having to debug code when it does stop working and they have no idea what any of it meant

I was planning to use Unity for 3d game development but so far it doesn't seem to have a proper map-making tool like Valve's Hammer Editor. Wokot doesn't seem to have one either and it looks like it could barely handle 3d graphics, and I'm not even trying to make photorealism-slop.

You're supposed to make the map editor or pull one off the unity asset store. There are many good ones that are expensive and do a lot of things or you can make one that only does exactly what you need for free.
This is useful for not bloating projects that dont use it.

So long gay Bowser...

ETA: since Wokot was brought up I wanted to check if the "community manager" behind the original drama from a few years ago was still involved in the project, apparently not anymore? Either xhe left or xhey (hopefully) got fired

The Godot Foundation team page doesn't seem to have a community manager listed either

So did these people do anything besides write up that lame description and make a fork? Either they're fucking retarded, or this is some sort of grift to part money from fools who will donate without reading beyond "fuck fascism, we hate chuds!!" and not realizing that what they're contributing to is basically nothing. Is there some sort of donation link for this "project" I'm not seeing? Otherwise I'll just have to conclude this was made by impotent brainlets who probably couldn't even articulate what compiling from source means.
