In some ways he did though. For example I doubt Sam would've ever let there be a cam in the basement, or just openly admit they're having problems with plumbing or internet or whatever the fuck.

It's a weird contrast with Sam, because he did give us some of the best moments on the show and was an imposing physical presence that nobody else can really imitate, but on the other hand he was clearly behind some very poor decisions. He was also really burned out at the end.

You see this same kinda shit with how he handles his podcast. He started out actually trying to make it interesting and now he's just having crazy people and twitter-personas on and letting them talk, going "Yep, those jews sure suck. HAH!" every so often. Sam just kinda sucks right now and clearly thinks he's way cooler and more important than he actually is. Compare the episode on "boomers" with the Jesse Lee Peterson episode. One has a point, one is Sam laughing at the wacky Uncle Ruckus Nigger.

Going MATI mode for a minute:
Everyone who said "Sam just seemed so checked out Season 4, he just fucked around on his laptop all day and it's like he wasn't even trying to be Goldstriker!!!" were retarded. Like actual modern-Marvel-fan brainless window-licking spergs.

It was such an obvious bit, basically the same kind as the one he did after the final challenge in S1. It was even the focal point of the main trailer for S4. Jet wouldn't be laughing it up with Sam and Ben during the investor stream if Sam was deliberately nuking Fishtank in every trailer, behind the scenes, and live on the show from front to back. And Sam's final address to the audience would have probably looked like his performance: bored, annoyed, and unenthused. But it didn't. Because it was a bit.

One of the shitty parts of losing S4 was missing out on whatever wild storyline they had cooked up. My guess is something like Sam having an all-time crashout and "walking off for good", making all the annoying fan contestants insanely uncomfortable and leading to production becoming unhinged or something, trying to make everyone quit in the funniest ways possible. Whatever he was doing on his laptop was probably going to come in to play toward the end of the rising action, and the OG houses would have been relevant too.

Today's challenge: SLAM POETRY. They must write a poem about being eliminated. Staff will read all of them and then decide who wrote the best one. Whoever is eliminated tomorrow will be reading their poem as the last thing they say on stream.

Sam streamed from the basement in the first several days of season 1. That's when they had the discussion of beating Jon up in sparring. In nearly every season they have some sort of catastrophic plumbing issue that they tell the audience about, it was the reason they did the S1 camping challenge. Once again during season 1 in the first week they had some sort of massive issue with Google threatening to cut their service that Sam told the audience about.

You can dislike Goldstriker but you're just making shit up about how Sam operated.

In case anyone is wondering, this is one example of the type of content that Bam can't recreate as host.

The only people who could possibly think this are either underage or just talking out of their ass. The only time Sam was ever close to being "mainstream" was when his show was on mainstream television... in 2016. That's a decade ago. Google it.

He's been doing political commentary his entire career and embraced it heavily during his Hyde Wars show which was also around 10 or so years ago. I mean, the reason his show was canceled in the first place is because he was doing his right wing sperging.

I don't think your generation (children) understands what "going mainstream" even means. Someone concerned with going mainstream doesn't say the Hard R and K word every time a camera is pointed in their face. He's had so many chances to sell out and actually possibly get some "mainstream" if he wanted it but he never has.

Not really, he was way less paranoid during s1. Even a bit less during s2. S3 and 4 were peak sam paranoia(and jet galaxy gas abuse) and that combined with the legal issues they were having fucked the show up so badly a lot of people thought it was unrecoverable.

It clearly also was a bit that he was hamming up with the laptop and the ignoring the fish, but the burnout was also evidently real by how they handled the show(meaning sloppily, wiggering it up and setting themselves up for failure because nobody involved could be fucked to do the proper due diligence to avoid said legal trouble, and not telling the audience when things were going sideways - leading to extensive downtime in both cases)

Also all signs point to s4 having some half-assed Mad Men theme, so @Rolex saying it was all a setup to Sam ragequitting isn't exactly accurate. I think they were intending to make the fish LARP like businessmen or something to pump/dump the sto-x(which would have also lined up with sam always being on his laptop "trading" or something) and the bit was instantly derailed by Rachel's antics, putting sto-x on the backburner. They're handing it better now with the "content house" type challenges.

Sam's heart definitely wasn't in it and it's not a bit like the Willy Wonka ending. But I agree with you that the thread cheering on his departure and acting like Bam is the second coming of christ is gay, and they are "window-licking spergs". The point of the show is comedy and a lot of the funniest moments were due to Sam.

Also "Burt fatigue" is for fags, tayleigh is cringe and I'm glad she lost, luke is overrated, emma is no better than payton/ellie, frank hassle rules, the ads suck and I hate them, Season 2 sucks, Greg is kind of a fag but I still like him, bitchtank was fun, sodaman is a bitch, stickermule is gay, Alex Stein rules, I found damiel funny, Mizzy is retconned and sucked on the show, the Indian jokes are old hat but Antara is funny, Bam is cringe but I like his passion, I don't want to see ball brothers return, airsoftfatty sucks, and I never got tired of Rachel.
