This guy does a whole series of “reviewing” the designs of every single pokemon that exists, and oftentimes he completely misses the entire point or premise of a certain design and is like “it makes no sense and is boring, it gets a D rating”. And then the people in the comments of the short have to be like “you didn’t understand why it looks like that.” It’s ridiculous to be lectured about beauty vs ugliness by someone who often misses the point of character design to begin with.
Funnily enough, Penny Arcade has had a huge resurgence with, as they themselves put it, "gay teenagers on tumblr". I see a lot of people on there claim Gabe (the one based on the comic's artist, Mike Krahulik) is a trans woman, diabetic, etc etc. It's mad but the creators are also aggressively liberal so I suppose you reap what you sow.
