Same, but I think it almost uniquely has to do with where you live in the US. There's places where the only B&M store within a few dozen miles is a Walmart, if that
Walmart and Home Depot are the only big boxes here. Closest metro area with lots of retail is about an hour from here. Not bad when needed, but a bit of a pain point, sure.

But my family won't be renewing our Prime membership either way. No point paying for "next day shipping" that takes a fucking week to get here.

Now, I guess shipping takes weeks because of "AI" and too much incompetence.
No, it's unironically niggers and jeets who've ruined it.

Amazon nailed down the actual logistics of absurdly-fast shipping years ago and they've pretty much built out everything needed to get it done. I live out on the boonies (as previously stated, there's only a Walmart and a Home Depot here in terms of "big box" stores) and they have successfully delivered things to my doorstep 8 hours after placing an order (i.e. order placed at 11pm, order arrives at 7am).

The trouble is the contractors they use are hiring almost exclusively niggers (or jeets if not enough niggers are available, and they're just as lazy) and they don't perform well enough to keep the logistics train running smoothly, and unfortunately Amazon doesn't care enough to put their foot down and actively punish the lazy (or thieving) ones.

To understand why niggers are to blame, here's the kind of shit they do:
Amazon always claims "this isn't our standard" and "most deliveries go smoothly" but more often than not when a package is unexpectedly/inexplicably delayed it's because something like this has happened. It's also not technically always a nigger doing it, but it almost always is. They're the only "species" collectively retarded and stupid enough to think they could do this and get away with it (i.e. their every move is literally tracked and there cameras fucking everywhere, including in/on their own vans, but they still do it anyway).

Your package might not actually have been stolen or delayed intentionally, but think about what a courier subcontractor has to do when they catch a nigger stealing or breaking something. You either intercept the thief on their route (that requires at least two people, but likely three -- a replacement driver, and a supervisor and HR rep to handle the firing, drive everybody out to intercept the thief mid-route and drive them back to "base" to finish the paperwork while the replacement driver takes over) or let them finish the day, fire them upon their return and eat the losses. If you just "call them back" without letting them finish the route, they'll know something's up and those deliveries all get delayed at least a day anyway unless you've got a replacement driver ready to go, which isn't always the case.

They're also lazy working within the logistics network itself, not just the last-mile delivery portion. They may break, misplace or misroute packages (or outright steal individual items or entire packages). UPS and Fedex are more honest about "misrouting" than USPS and Amazon are (Amazon's own network will just "omit" embarrassing status updates and flatly say "your package has been delayed" without further explanation; they know exactly where everything is, they just won't tell you):
The funny thing is if you don't pay for Prime and actually paid for shipping out-of-pocket (or you have Prime and you pay extra for faster delivery) and a package gets lost or delayed, if you bitch enough at Amazon they'll refund the shipping you paid. If you're using Prime to get free/fast shipping though, you're fucked. They won't refund any portion of your order (or your Prime membership fee). At best, they might give you a $1 digital coupon for some useless shit you'll never use.

Amazon has had some pretty bad infrastructural fuckups, too:
Again though, this often comes down to idiot jeet and nigger drivers doing the bare-minimum effort to "tick the boxes and call the job done" (see the USPG2 thread for lots of stories about terrible/incompetent jeet truckers/drivers).

Obviously Amazon doesn't ultimately care about this shit (and won't until it starts hitting their bottom line properly, which it inevitably will; they can't pass the buck forever) but the root cause for most Amazon package chicanery is thieving third-world subhumans stealing things or fucking things up.

The funny thing is Walmart's figured out this part of the delivery problem and are actively deploying fucking drones to just cut niggers out of the last-mile delivery process entirely. It works in places they've deployed it so far, and though it's got its own limitations (for obvious reasons), it's proving more reliable than employing monkeys and/or Uber drivers (or their equivalents), which is the funniest fucking thing I've seen happen in 2026 so far. Just the thought that "fuck it, build autonomous fucking drones we deploy on-demand to deliver up to 8 pounds of goods at a time to pre-approved trustworthy customers" is still ultimately cheaper in the long run than trusting random niggers to drive something two miles down the road. That amuses me immensely.

Thanks. If there are more stories like that, then good recommendation. But would you want to support the author for him taking the time to share that story? Not a good attitude if you liked the book.
I don't pay for media, period. Make of that what you will. No apologies are offered and the fuck bucket's empty, so I have none to give.

Nobody's stopping you from buying the book yourself (or even a second copy if you're feeling particularly sorry for the author's pocketbook).

This seems to be a standalone completely AI generated scene I've seen posted in a few places, and every time some retarded nigger in the comments says it's from a short created by a Yale student called Love of the Dead in 2011. The description of this short paints the narrative of a degenerate serial killer feeding his dead zombie girlfriend people he kills, then putting make-up on and playing dress up with the zombie corpse. Every time anyone asks where this is from some faggot will pop up out of nowhere mentioning the name of this short. Did one lying faggot say it once, and now every retard just repeats it blindly? Was it the former Yale student trying, for some reason, to fool people into watching a college film project he created over a decade ago? Is it bots?

Anyways wasn't sure where else to post the heart-string tugging AI slop.

I just wanted to look at funny bootleg toys

Just put the fries in the bag, man.

It shouldn't be there in the first place. It's malware because it interrupts/disrupts routine/regular use of the site. It should be reported/blocked as such to whatever upstream services are being abused to dispense it.
NoScript blocks it by default. Other than that, when you have scripts enabled, it does set a cookie when you press Esc, so it should not reappear on your next visit.

Thus, I don't think anyone would take such a report seriously.

It's still malware. It's content not related to the site, it interrupts normal function (requiring user intervention to dismiss or block), and serves no useful purpose. Anyone ignoring the report is running a useless anti-malware service.

at very least the website adapts well to not having javascript enabled instead of not loading at all
There is a special place in hell for web devs who piece the page and paragraphs together with API endpoint and DOM rather than just the giving the HTTP resource of HTML. That is proper evil misanthropic and belligerent engineering. It will be that Google will somehow have indexed the content of the page, but the content is held hostage by javascript. I guess that they put teases in the document head to get into search engines. Either way, web pages are the best when they are web pages and don't need javascript.

That's by design, and people who do it should be dragged out into the street and shot, along with the managers who demanded it be done.

There are two motivations behind doing it that way. The first is the naive, "honest mistake" kind that can be corrected through experience and mentoring (by helping fix it, and showing other examples of how to do it properly), where some junior-level developer first discovers the "skeleton/bones/placeholder" widgets in his favorite new toy web UI toolkit, and realizes he can just have his shiny new single-page application spit out an entire page full of properly (mostly) sized placeholders (or "bones") and then fill in the pieces by fetching the data separately (using separate network requests, yay for slamming the backend API!) and having their client-side template engine "hydrate" (fill in) each element once the real "stuff" has arrived.

They do it because they think it makes the page "feel" faster (even if it's actually slower to render than just generating and transmitting it in full native HTML server-side and trusting the client to lay it out properly and quickly) because something appears immediately and users seem to have accepted those little animated "paragraph-shaped gray boxes with glowing sheen" are indicators "hey, chill a minute, the page is still loading/doing shit." They're wrong, because the browser has to render what it receives, full flow and all, then repeatedly reflow the whole fucking document again each and every time a skelebones segment gets hydrated.

Now that frameworks exist in several languages that transparently handle server-side rendering and dynamic interactive elements with minimal scripting and standards-compliant implementations (Phoenix LiveView is fucking insane for how well it does what it does -- even if your site is filled with interactive LiveView widgets, the first page load at any given URL is a full and content-complete server-side render, shipped in plain HTML, and the sucker doesn't even open up a WebSocket to start the interactive magic until everything's already shown on the page where it belongs), this is increasingly rare.

It's the malicious motivation that leads to most of these sites now. That malicious motivation is simple: "I want users to use my site exclusively for this content, and don't want anyone else to be able to copy, scrape, index or search it. My site must be the sole source of truth and I want to fight/block scrapers and archivers at all costs, even if it inconveniences my real users!"

Those are the ones who should be shot. From a cannon. Into the sun. After we shoot them with regular bullets while they're lined up against a barren concrete wall. With their mothers' faces painted on it behind them.
