Alex just can't ignore anything said about him. Sure, he has the right to reply to anything, but he seems to focus an awful lot on all of the "negatively-charged" posts about him. Of course his white knights swoop to his rescue as soon as someone says anything remotely neutral or positive (by Alex standards) that he disagrees with because "our dear Yandaddy's feelings can't be hurt!".
He must have never grown out of the phase of trying to weigh in on literally everything that happens to him. I'm wary of people who do this. For normal people, there is a point where you realize there are more important things to do, than to justify yourself to completely random assholes.
As people said, if he stayed out of his chat and let his mods handle things, he would actually have time to spend on his fucking game. It's pretty clear he spends 8 hours a day in chat rooms.
I want to contrast this with the developer's of No Man's Sky. They had a really ambitious game scope, and, due to studio pressure, ended up not putting most of those cool things in the game upon the original release. (which everyone was universally pissed about.)
When this happened, all of the dev's went radio silent for several months, and did zero PR. After 6 months, they released a fully finished game. See how much you get done when you work instead of chatting?
