Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Here's the thing. That's... not actually true. While their immediate neighboring states are seeing some blue exodus, most other states are seeing the Republicans moving out making them more red. The whole "California is making everyone else Blue" is -mostly- a myth propped up by the left to soothe their own butthurt egos.

In SW Ohio at least we've seen a large influx of New Yorkers moving into the area, not sure about the rest of the state. At first I was worried, but then I realized they were Upstaters. I've legitimately wondered if Ohio going redder has something to do with upstate New Yorkers moving to a place where their vote can actually matter.

I've been seeing California plates lately too, which is more concerning, but apparently the Cincy region has been getting a lot of good press about being a good, relatively inexpensive, place to live. I was kinda hoping the weather would keep them away.

Probably that combined with a few other factors (mainly economic). Republican legislators in Upstate NY have spent like 27 of the past 30 years submitting and voting for bills to have Upstate secede from NYC. Obviously those efforts haven't gone anywhere but the number of legislators voting for those bills isn't insignificant.

But couldnt the dems in the interest of building some good will and capitals craft a 3-4 part bill that would out line identifying what needs to be rebuildt repaired and replaced and make sure each state/district got a peace of the pie.

Psaki spoke on this yesterday, and the excuse was "we believe in equity", which makes NO fucking sense. So you'll take treatments away from people that want them and give them to people that don't "for equity".

Funnily enough "equitable" distribution of the treatment would be to send it out proportionally to the actual need. They've adopted the term equity as a way to confuse people who understand "equal" to mean fair. Metro area would be Hamilton County, where Cincinnati is, Butler, Clermont, and parts of Warren county. Butler and Clermont have always been red counties, Hamilton county lately is just barely blue. Lots of old Blue Dogs voting Republican for years, since the state democrats think running progressive leaning people in the socially conservative parts of the state is a good idea. I think I've said before that Ohio state politics are particularly retarded and both parties live up to that.

What good will? As @Gehenna has explained before, the Democrat politicians in DC are deeply in political debt to the various local movements and organizations. They can't get anything done that isn't a massive omnibus designed to launder money to literally everyone and everything at the exact same time, because if they don't appeal to everyone at once then those excluded will torpedo it. The Democrat machine used to be able to work past this stuff since there were enough favors that could be called in to lubricate matters and convince groups to take a bit less than the other guy, but that all got spent fortifying the election.
