General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

To everyone who didn't sit through the Tournament Selen was in with Bonnivier (Nijisanji ID) and Ban Hada (Nijisanji KR), I've summed it up in a classic greentext giggle gator fashion.

>Nobody got to scrim in battle royales early on because EA is a small indie company so the servers shit themselves.
>Selen's team at least needed the scrim experience to understand the tournament mindset over the 3 stack pub mindset they were forced to do due to the aforementioned servers hosted by small indie startup dev EA.
>Servers continued to shit themselves the rest of the week after a patch.
>Selen's suffering from brain melt/scramble from being the only NA player having to play in scrims at like 4am while also having a regular stream schedule that she didn't/wouldn't cancel to maintain a healthy sleep schedule. Playing on 5 to 4 hours of sleep daily. Laughs it off a bit.
>Tournament was changed to fucking Best of 1 in fucking Arenas due to the server issues, which plays nothing like Battle Royale and is just a 3v3 slugfest. (Though I will say they brought it to match point at least twice from what I watched so the games were close)
>During an event where Arenas is changed. While this doesn't apply to custom lobbies, it would make it harder to practice.
>However, nobody in the invite list for this tournament got to practice because this change came less than an hour before the tournament was scheduled to start.
>To make it worse (with a bit of schadenfreude if you're into some dark humor) Bonnivier started to report that he had some sort of Kidney-area pain yesterday or the day before (he assumed it was Kidney Stones, A Doctor said it was Stress, Armchair Doctors around the internet are saying its probably a stomach ulcer) and literally started dying about an hour and a half into the tournament.
>Selen greatly concerned with Bon's health. Wants to forfeit for Bon to go and see a doctor and also probably because the tournament is an absolute shitshow.
>Bonnivier "I just live with the pain" Pranaja doesn't want to forfeit because he's a real gamer and also probably a shounen protagonist. Soul evaporating live.
>Selen throws the last match they stream. Understandably because she's fucking exhausted at this point and Bon is suffering a shounen character death live on stream.

Selen briefly talked about her feelings afterward and while I'm also fucking tired so I might have the wrong idea it kinda came across to me that she's probably not going to participate in any Apex tournaments in the future. Kinda sucks but understandable, she made it pretty clear during that talk that she plays for fun and not to be a sweaty tryhard.

The tournament in general was a total shitshow from start to finish, and more than a little bit unfair. So on top of what you've said, I'll make a fun greentext spanning the whole saga. I want people to pay close attention to the ranks of players.

>Selen is approached by RIG to lead the final team and told that she can only have a Diamond and Platinum teammate because she is classified as an APEX Predator. She is offered no point deductions for being the only member in the whole tournament on NA timezones, and is given only 5 hours to comprise a team.

>She scrambles together Ban Hada, a wholesome Plat player who I love very much, and Bonnivier Pranaja, who only knows how to play SoloQ and is therefore annoyingly stubborn and unresponsive to others calling the shots.

>Other teams, coincidentally members of RIG, are allowed teams much stronger than a Pred-Dia-Plat stack: such as Tempplex (Pro), Chii-tan (Diamond 1), and Shiro (Diamond). rpr (Pro) was allowed Qpi (High Master) and Nazuna Kaga, who was classified as a Plat player in this tournament despite reaching Diamond 4 in a previous season, making the teams not only unbalanced, but poorly researched and held to account. Other teams like Virtual Gorilla and Restya (Pred + 2x Diamonds) were given the OK by tournament organisers.

>Selen works really hard and contacts her pro friends to give her tips on being an IGL. A feat that pays off the next day when they win a Scrim against pro teams but that's basically all the servers can manage.

>Scrims become a meme. Teams decided to abandon playing properly and instead team up to melee Tempplex. 3 days without a full scrim causes the tournament to lose all integrity. It's worthy of note that even though it isn't RIGs fault that the servers are down, servers are consistently fucked on patch weeks so organising a tournament around it is naive.

>RIG have rented out a 5-star Osaka hotel to cast the tournament. They cannot cancel out of obligation and decide to switch to Arena-style instead.

>All of the pubs and minor scrims they managed to pull together amidst the server issues are now patently useless because BR and Arena have two totally different, mutually exclusive metagames.

>We now reach what @Wandering Lurker has said. Bon is dying on stream, Selen is exhausted after holding down two schedules in one week, and they are placed against teams fundamentally better than them because organisers wanted RIG teams to have an unfair advantage.

>Selen is so uncharacteristically defeated that she states she wouldn't be surprised if she never gets invited again (she doesn't say she won't join anymore btw, she clearly wants to) due to feeling she didn't meet the expectations of organisers and fans.

I feel I'm going to get a handful of Autistic/MATI emotes under here for saying this, but what else is new: RIG Cup appeared to be nothing more than a glorified tournament where RIG members were given advantages that would make them look good.

Unlike other tournaments, this one does not publically describe the system on how teams are organised, meaning that the restrictions are entirely at the mercy of the organisers, and so it's rather coincidental that RIG teams are so strong whilst others are made to job. The saving grace is that they had to change to a more raw format that doesn't necessarily favour them.

The grand prize on top of cash was a stay at the hotel it was being hosted in btw which meant that, even if by some Mighty Ducks miracle Selen won, the restrictions currently implemented in Japan would mean that none of the members would be allowed to go. What an unmitigated disaster this was.

I'm probably one of the few here who gives a shit about Nadechama, but I've been wondering
How young is she? She knows a bit too much about western Internet culture and her English is pretty good, she has grasp of a lot of difficult words (her pronunciation is just meh)
I like Nadechama too. I think she is 16-17 year old. And how we are some kind of weeaboo, Nadechama similar to us but on opposite side - involved in Western culture.

About these buff mascots...

My boy Bobon deserves the world.

Playism EN twitter account has published a convoluted "explanation" and "apology" to the upset audience. No apology to KSON though and reading through their tweets is a waste of time in my opinion.

References Threes Company. How old are these people? Their best bet is to cancel the whole thing now. If they can't run a twitter account how can they run an event?
Takodachiタコニナル

Always fun to see a small indie company self-immolate because they try to appease to their significantly smaller CN audience.
Playism. Never trust an -ism.

Is it normal to fall in love to Vtubers?

Discussion
Is it normal to fall in love to Vtubers? Like really fall in love, like you get jealous sometimes when he/she notices other fans but not you, I know it may sound weird and I might sound like some weird old guy, but I just fell in love with Oozora Subaru since the first time I met her, ever since then she became my wallpaper, profile, etc. (sorry if that sounds creepy/weird), so anyways, is what I'm doing normal? or am I being way too obsessed? thank you.

From what I understood they claim 'miscommunication'. Something along the lines of putting people in promotion materials before everything was finalized(3/??).
And they can't get into certain topics just because. And that this has nothing to do with politics.
They make chinese cock seem mighty delicious.
