France has state secularism (laicite) and the restrictions also apply to turbans, kippahs, tichels, visible crosses etc. but I only ever see hijabis kicking up a stink about this.

There's similar laws regarding the hijab in actual Muslim countries such as Morocco, Bosnia, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Turkey (before Erdogan lost the plot) and more. The push against these laws was mostly by Islamist groups like the Muslim Brotherhood so it's hilarious that 'progressives' are carrying water for these guys.

But seriously, i've noticed there's been a very sinister push within the past year or two to paint France as some "enemy of Islam". Normally it comes from shitrags like Al Jazeera and TRT. A lot of dark money involved i'm sure.
