Chris Rock Reveals He Has COVID, Urges Followers to Get Vaccinated: 'Trust Me You Don't Want This' - Chris Rock previously received the COVID-19 vaccine earlier this year

Chris Rock has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

On Sunday, the 56-year-old comedian revealed that he tested positive for the coronavirus in a message shared on Twitter.

"Hey guys I just found out I have COVID," he tweeted. "Trust me you don't want this. Get vaccinated."

Rock previously received the COVID-19 vaccine earlier this year, which he revealed during a late-night guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in May.

At the time, the Spiral: From the Book of Saw star said, "I'm two-shots Rock, that's what they call me," before he noted that he actually received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which only required a single dose. "That's the food stamps of vaccines," he joked.

Prior to that appearance, Rock had sat down with Gayle King for an interview on CBS Sunday Morning in January, where he said that he couldn't wait to get the vaccine.

The pair also discussed how some members of the Black community felt "trepidation" about receiving their doses, as King, 66, stated.

"I'm gonna put it this way — Do I take Tylenol when I get a headache? Yes," he said, defending the vaccine. "Do I know what's in Tylenol? I don't know what's in Tylenol, Gayle. I just know my headache's gone. Do I know what's in a Big Mac, Gayle? No. I just know it's delicious."

King then noted how Rock was taking the COVID-19 pandemic "very seriously," as they were sitting outside his home in the winter like "human popsicles."

Reactions: The Last Stand
If you took the vaccine and still got COVID, what was the point of getting the vaccine? Why encourage people to take something that doesn't work? Seems very irresponsible.

You can look up what's in Tylenol though, Chris. You can inform yourself on what's in it if you damn well please. I don't think they've released what's actually in the COVID vaccines.

I like how celebrities have these horrible reactions to covid while a hippie chick I hang out with occasionally caught it and literally spent the whole day instagramming herself sunbathing all day "sweating it out"

Before faggots get mad, she has the vaccine too.

These are the people accusing you of being "anti-science" by the way

Persuasion of black people apparently works very differently than persuasion of white people, so I guess I can't judge his tactics too much

The messaging should be "hey, this vaccine decreases the chances of you getting infected, but if it doesn't work then it lessens the symptoms, and even if that's not the case then you at least took everything you could to give yourself the least bumpiest ride".

This is at least honest, because at this point we know that we can't vaccinate ourselves out of the pandemic if the vaccines as they are still allow for transmission.

@The Last Stand

So its basically Acetaminophen and food coloring. I'm not sure if using aluminum and titanium as a base for food coloring necessarily good, but at least I can:
1) make an informed decision on if I'm going to take it/risk vs benefits
2) know that the drug is effective/ does what it's supposed to do
3) I'm not forced by the state, my employer, my school, or bossy waitresses to take Tylenol

I can't do any of those with the COVID vaccine.

A better question would've been "I don't know HOW Tylenol helps with my headache, but I take it."

Tylenol is an off-the-counter medication that anybody can purchase for common issues like flu or headache. COVID-19 is a newly formed variant that simple medication cannot fix.

I'd figure certain steroids that help lungs absorb oxygen could help treat COVID. There's a plethora of medications and drugs we can try that can alleviate the symptoms at least, or cure it at most (if doctors were allowed to prescribe them/weren't incentivized to NOT treat COVID other than putting them on a ventilator)

TIL Chris Rock is either too stupid to look at the label or blind.

TIL Chris Rock also doesn't check to see if his Big Mac is, in fact, a Big Mac, so if a disgruntled McD's employee spat on his burger, he'd still eat it.

Gee, I sure hope that "Big Mac" Chris Rock's having doesn't have a "razor blade" or a "roofie".
