You are right. They may just be trying to play us.
However, you can't be mad at the scorpion for being a scorpion, but you can question the logic of a person who picks it up and acts surprised that it stings the shit out of them.
Out the gate, she had nothing but bad things to say about this man, but like the fool she's always proven herself to be, she continued to pursue him. He started with the alleged love bombing, drugs, humiliating sex, and exploitation right away. So in a way you can't fault someone for who they have always been. According to her, he never put on airs to win her over.
Still, this does not absolve Nader from his atrocious behaviors. He should not be supported or encouraged in his antics, and he certainly should not be glorified in any way. His reputation had long been destroyed before we ever got the first glimpse of his face.
ETA; Imagine enduring abuse, drug use, and desecrating sex acts, but being asked to go for a walk and eat healthy is too much. I cannot deal.

Obviously if he could fuck Chantal, he will fuck anything and they believe they'd be an upgrade. Some women have no shame and are desperate. Then there are the trolls who will hit on him just to create the drama and rage with Chantal. They know that she will see it and how she will react and that is what they are counting on. You also have those who just want what someone else has because someone else has it. Once they have it, they no longer want it.
