OK, sorry for the boomer post, but I'm clicking through page after page of this stuff, and I still have no idea who these people are. I know they're Youtubers, I know the girl is dead and the guy is missing and people feel strongly in various different directions. But... who are they?

Could somebody give us a brief, KF-style summary on who these people are? (are they cows? Were they popular? Did they draw weird furry inflation art, get in fights with other Youtubers, or have strong political opinions? etc)

Also, what was their channel? I found a vanlife Youtube channel featuring these two, but it only has one video - an intro video - and that was uploaded a month ago.

thats pretty much it as in they're 'random', they were starting a youtube channel and at least the girl was trying to be an influencer. people just latched onto this case for some reason.

from looking into this a bit more, she comes off as a BPD bitch off her meds and the guy is your typical hippy larper. i can totally see it have ended in a "accidental" killing either by a bad trip, the guy violently restrain the girl or both. what shocks me more is how fast this story has been spread and the people have already made it up in their mind she's an innocent angel and the guy a complete monster.

How many times do I have to tell you retards? Until there was a body found that matched her ID there was no proof that she was dead. Yes, you can assume that she was dead because of the incredibly suspicious circumstances, but his parents cannot be convicted of anything because unless you can definitively prove that they knew he'd killed her (which would be pretty hard to confirm even if he directly told them) they weren't hiding a wanted criminal.

The original call to police over their domestic dispute claimed that he was hitting her. Seemingly multiple times (in the van and outside on the sidewalk.) She scratched him too but we also don't know who was the instigator. I think there's a good chance they're both a little crazy. Except now she's dead which is obviously going to paint him in a bad light after the domestic abuse and running away in her van without telling anyone.

cool... base assumptions are very telling. I believe the less antissocial is a murderer murdered someone instead of maybe the victim deserved to die, that should come with scrutiny if it comes to it.

Really? When I heard them described as Youtubers, I thought that meant they had a large audience and several years of vantube content behind them at least; not, "they made one video".

I did some minor research and it seems like the gal and guy had a successful instagram and some other social media stuff too. Idk if they also did YouTube beyond that one vidya. All in all I think the reason why this is big news is, because legacy media wants ratings to play up and increase viewership among zoomers; but I think the ladder is failing.
