There are metabolic reasons stimulant drugs make people lose weight, but two huge factors for why junkies get skinny are that they don't feel hungry -- and even when they do, they prioritize buying drugs over buying food.

Chantal has no problem affording both (for the time being, but she is definitely starting to economize) and she has never ever eaten because of hunger. She's quit two different prescriptions because they interfered with her ability to binge. It should be obvious that barring any serious medical issues, no one actually overeats to the point of severe morbid obesity because of actual hunger. Chantal makes it especially obvious that food is a coping mechanism for dealing with bad feelings, as well as a substitute for sex, love, meaning, spirituality, passions, talent, intellect, or any other type of human fulfillment. Recreational drugs have only recently come to rival food as Chantal's One True Love, and they're nowhere near knocking Nashies off their throne.
