What event made you feel genuinely sorry for Chris?

I'm just going to say that after the events of this weekend, I don't think Chris is entitled to pity for anything anymore.

The only thing I felt bad for was the way he messed things up with Megan, the only person he was ever actual friends with.

Now, I'm gonna admit as a younger person, I had crushes on girls and had personal fantasies about them, but they were still real people in the end. One thing I always had with my female friends (who are still my female friends to this day) is respect. My problem is nobody taught me to "pursue"

Pity is one thing, compassion is quite another. Especially after the events of this weekend, I think Chris has garnered a lot of pity. Just not compassion.

Chris hasn't been entitled to any pity ever since he hit Snyder with a car.

Pity? *scoffs*

Nobody cares about pitying Chris in the real world. People have jobs, their families, their lives. As far as the Smoker Woman is concerned, Chris was the man who smashed into her car, inconveniencing her from her life in the process. She doesn't know Chris, despite what he thinks, nobody in the real world knows who he is.

He just doesn't know it because he never fucking changes.

I felt sorry for Chris when Bob died. It's all downhill from there. Had it been Barb first, he might have been able to improve.

I feel sorry for Chris never getting to experience the joy of taking care of something, like a pet.

Clover: Eeeee Eeeeee!
Snoopy: Ruh! Ruh!

Other then his upbringing, which garners a lot of pity, I just can't feel sorry for him. He just goes out and acts like a jack@ss now a days and I don't see him ever getting the insight or smarts to see how everything he does is abnormal.

Nope. Still got nothing.
Same. Every time I think I might feel sorry for Chris I watch one of his videos or read his facebook rants and :heart-empty: sympathy gone.

I also feel sorry for him when he accuses the forum of being full of trolls, when in reality we're not trolls and probably want to help him more than anyone else in his life. The reason he's so paranoid about us is that 99.99% of his contact with non family members have been trolls, until very recently. Chris spent greater than five years getting tricked, and now he doesn't know who to trust, so he trusts no one.

And thus, he ignores the people offering him the best advice. Though to be fair, there's a really good chance he'd do that anyway.

I felt bad when Chris was near-tears talking about how he won tickets to a (basketball?) game and couldn't get anyone to go with him.

Of course, he then began babbling inane bullshit that made my sympathy vanish rather quickly, but that's just par for the course with him.

Ahh, the Greene County Conspiracy video. He was upset because he couldn't get people to go to a motorcross show with him. I remember feeling bad for him until he started in with the Illuminati being run through Greene County crap.

He came SO CLOSE to realization that his entire life was his own fault, and then backpedaled with all the strength of Lance Armstrong on a 'roid binge.

Bob's death made me feel sorry for Chris. Losing a parent is brutal. Despite Borb's piss-poor parenting of him, Chris seems to have as close an emotional bond with them as he could ever have with anyone. It was a watershed moment that marked the beginning of the shitshow that Chris' life has now become. To be honest, I'm afraid of what will happen to Chris after Barb passes on. :(

But, that's not even true. Chris has had plenty of contact with people who started with no ill will toward him. But he invariably decides they owe him something just because he's Chris, and usually what he decides they owe him would require some ridiculous level of self-sacrifice on their part. And when they don't give in to his baseless demands, he immediately gets up on the cross and complains about how they hate him for no reason, without a care in the world for the fact that other people deserve to have nice things too, not only him.

Chris is his own worst troll. He is very good at creating other trolls that wouldn't exist otherwise. But more than that, he's very good at just plain making enemies out of people that might have helped him if he had the humility to ask nicely and offer something in return.

I'd say being raised someone like Barb is pretty downright sad even for a neurotypical kid like Coleslaw.
