Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Oh, and THIS NEXT IMAGE SHOULD DECERTIFY THE ENTIRE ARIZONA ELECTION!

THIS is why they didn't want to turn over the hardware.
Why didn't they just destroy the hardware if they didn't want to fork it over?

I admit I don't know the exact implications of having dual boot but it's still suspect. Can someone more familiar explain what the purpose of this would under malicious intent? I legit don't see the point of having dual boot insofar as accomplishing voter fraud.

I figure this audit will probably be news for a bit so just remember this when you're ripping your hair out at the agonizingly bad takes - this is what many of your fellow Americans think about the possibility of a rigged election:

Voter fraud didn't happen.
And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
And if it was, we had to save the Republic.
And if we didn't, Trump is an evil alt-right fascist.
And if he isn't, he had his finger over the nuclear launch button.
And if he didn't, he still deserved it.

Second boot would have any changes you want, and a simple analysis of the software from the machine itself would only pick up the first. The problem is that the on-the-ground crew wouldn't know how to install/uninstall the second drive. They could delete entries, but these are largely boomers who would have no idea how to actually remove the second drive for destruction.

I wonder how many yanked USB drives out of the back and smashed them, giggling over destroying 'the drives.'

So having a second boot would allow you to meddle with the contents of the primary drive? Couldn't you just do that with the primary boot/drive?

God, now I am just imagining command telling them to destroy "The drives", they do what you say, message back, command smiles about a job well done, only for this to pop up.

Probably didn't happen... probably. But the thought of it will make me go to bed with a smile tonight.

Any alterations to the first drive are logged at time. By using the second, they can que up a bunch of changes at once, insert them at one time when its less suspicious on the log, and no one is the wiser if they only examine the logs off the first drive. Example:

Vote goes on, you get some precincts in and want to add 100 votes for your guy. You que up several of those votes onto the second drive. While doing so, you find out your guy is going to lose by 150, so you que up 100 more. Now with 200 votes on the second drive, you wait for precinct 2 to come in which you'd win in normally, insert the 200 votes into it to make up for the loss in precinct 1. No visual discrepancy at all, no odd log for precinct 1. Only one log in instead of 2, at a time of your choosing, in a location of your choosing.

Thank you for explaining, hard to believe they were really lazy/stupid enough to leave that behind, if they had done this right then there'd be no evidence whatsoever.

Absolutely horrendously hard. Unlike Minnesota and Chauvin, most people in Wisconsin are behind Rittenhouse. there's a reason the prosecution was so god damn mad the judge threw out all their character assassination evidence. People -like- Rittenhouse, and honestly the hard part will be finding an impartial jury that doesn't want to immediately -acquit- Rittenhouse.

The kid is like a human Golden Retriever. He's just so harmless looking, kinda goofy really.......

Sanitizing hardware is a science, especially if it doesn't have a big red baleet button. Secure systems will have such a button and/or a tamper sensor. When that's not possible, everything will be encrypted with the assumption the attacker can't get the key--it could require a dongle or smartcard, or a password in someone's head, or both.

After this, I expect to see a push for "secure" (fortified) ballot machines that will give greater control to administrators and be opaque to auditors.

Honestly the idea that 80 million people legitimately voted for Biden is more terrifying than voter fraud. I know there are people out there kind of like "yellow dogs" that will just vote D because D or because of something really stupid, it's always been that way but there cannot be 80 million of those people. I heard an old woman I work with say that she'd always voted Democrat but she couldn't anymore in November 2020. She can't be the only Silent Gen that's experienced this change. Trump got the most minority votes of any Repub since like the 70s despite 4 years of getting slandered as a literal KKK member. I've witnessed more people between 2017-2020 verbally state they've jumped from the Dem ship and swam to the Repub shore both IRL and online than ever before and yet...80 million? Seriously 80 million?
