I'm finding it very hard to comprehend the stupidity of Chris Pratt being problematic as an Italian because he's an American born from American parents and American grandparents, some of whom were of Norwegian descent. Charlie Day, on the other hand, is an American born from American parents and American grandparents, one of whom was of Italian descent so he's fine to play an Italian.
I mean... none of these "identities" are real in any meaningful sense. Chris Pratt doesn't speak fucking Norwegian and has probably never been there in his life, and ditto Charlie Day for Italy.
But somehow in the great leftist utopia of inclusivity and social justice, in order to do certain things you must be of the exactly correct ancestral lineage, or you will be hounded out of employment. Like... do they SEE themselves acting like arbiters of racial purity?

That's only partially true. They pretty much only apply these rules to white people. If this whole story was about, say, Donald Glover having the role, and if Italian people complained about it they'd be told to shut their white mouths because "Who cares who does a voice? These characters aren't even real people." If Chris Pratt was set to voice/play what is traditionally a non-white (especially black) character, there would be 100x the complaining, easily.
Fittingly when I just Googled 'Chris Pratt' the first story I see is precisely the thing that so many women/bugmen in the gaming/nerd hobby sphere complain about: men asking about their 'credentials.' Naturally this hypocrisy comes from Slate.

You're right. I think we reached peak Clown World in the Sept. 2019-Feb 2020 period.

There is no logical reason I can see for waiting 2 months to make THE IMPORTANT CASE of Trump's impeachment trial whe she was saying that Bolton was crucial (not enough time), unless she knew Covid was coming. It explains her sudden reversals on NAFTA 2.0 and the Chinese Tariffs, coupled with the smug irreverence of her performative (at the time apparently overly confident) behaviour during the SOTU.
I suspect Pelosi et al. were struggling with forming the articles of impeachment, so sometime in October, she and other party officals gave the thumbs up to the CCP with their offer to help (we certainly know they are all in bed together), by releasing the virus.
I'm not normally a conspiracy minded person, but this shit is just too straight up. It's like someone threatening to murder someone, and then, for no reason at all, you live in their house covered in their blood, and are making a nice rich broth from the bones of their kids. Yeah, maybe it wasn't you, but you got some 'splainin' to do. Business as usual doesn't cut it, especially when everything since has just enriched you along the way.
