Those aren't "the Opposition" though. See, even the language that's printed sets it up as though it's a two-party system. I'm not that strong on Australian politics but don't they even give themselves LARP "shadow" titles so they can roleplay in front of a mic even when they aren't elected to the exclusion of all others?
I mean yeah over a long enough period of time, like really long, another party might become the new opposition and Australia does have some occasional third-party stuff going on, but the money running the show moves a lot faster and it's not a genuinely representative system by design.

Full disclosure my impressions of this stuff are entirely against my will and if not for these troubling times I would be far the fuck away again where I could be entirely rather than mostly ignorant

My missus got fined last year for not voting in the council elections.

She's a nurse mind you, was working in a Covid ward at the time. Also working part-time in an aged care facility with an outbreak so her mind was on things other than who would be responsible for emptying the bins. Didn't receive a postal ballot, she tried to call them to get one and couldn't get through. All the polling stations closed because of the lockdown. 6 months later she got the fine in the post, wrote to them and explained all of the above and they replied with a hearty fuck your excuses pay up lol.

Most of the country hasn't been in lockdown though. Western Australia had one lockdown last year and a couple of snap lockdowns (a few days) and that's it. Queensland and South Australia the same. Tasmania is a little island and they've been totally untouched. Even New South Wales avoided lockdowns until the most recent insanity. It's only where I live that's been hammered and that's because we have a psychopathic communist as our state premier. New South Wales will open up completely in a few weeks, no coof passes, back to normal. Daniel Andrews will not be having any of that. We'll be living in a state of halfway lockdown forever with Covid passports and mandatory boosters if he has his way. Today they announced they'll be rolling out the quarantine app, the one that makes you take a selfie, for ALL people asked to self isolate. That means anyone who's been in a tier 1 exposure site. Go to a shopping mall at the same time as a positive case you'll be locked in your house for 14 days and you'll be pinged with messages at 2AM demanding you take a selfie or the cops will be sent round. Fuck that shit. Anyway something needs to be done about this cunt.

Not exactly true, you get fined if you don't have a legitimate reason for not voting. I don't vote, have not voted in over 10 years, at first the AEC will send you a please explain letter, you reply you abstain from voting for religious reasons, and they accept. They don't even send me a please explain letter anymore, they must do it automatically.

Which is a product of him being an investment banker among other things rather than predominantly a product of corruption, and also not an especially high net worth even if it were, as well as being the result of a lifetime which still only resembles how much can be made on the other side of a single dodgy deal, but that's all irrelevant because I think you're still missing my point here. The damage is measured in billions. These people sell the country out for a couple of beans.

Most of you guys are alright but the thing I hate most about Australians after the brainwashing is how similar it usually is to talking to a block of fucking wood.

On the news today a walk through jab centre was complaining about the no shows calling them anti vaxxers. It’s just people screwing the jab or booking to be jabbed rule to work.

I get what you are saying...that these 'leaders' waltz in and destroy Straya and are not reaping any rewards for it. I agree. But, these 'leaders' are all in bed with each other. They all went to the same private schools, are part of the old boys club, and banged each others wives at The Waterhouse's annual White Ball. I have no idea why once one clown exits, another clown takes it place as our 'leader'. As I said before, they have no interest in helping Straya prosper. I compare it to NZ, Ardern is doing an amazing job and seems to care about her country and trying to make good choices. Straya doesn't have that. Our 'leaders' seem to just come in to rule as part of a tokenistic gesture of compliance for whatever reason that is organised by the elites here. We have a ruling class, and they control the 'leaders' for their own capitalist gain. It appears there is no kick-backs to us for our 'leaders' for doing their tour of duty. But, we don't know, what we don't know.
