Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Ever since I made my last post about the infestation of the Youtooz community, Youtooz has decided to release a new line of consoomer bait. However, it isn't a figure or a plush toy of an e-celeb that will most likely get exposed as a sex pest in a year, this time they decided to start making branded fruit juices to sell with a massive markup.
Unsurprisingly this website is full of crap marketing about how this fruit juice is vegan and made in the US
uncomplicated.png

Youtooz believes that their rebranded Snapple bottle is worth about 20$ for a six pack.
toozies.png

For a comparison, an equivalent strawberry lemonade costs around 3 dollars at Target, which makes Toozies an 80% upcharge just for the branding.

However as expected, the Youtooz drones just drink it up anyways.

Really? Back in the day the fangirls were the chicks who brought "yaoi paddles" to anime conventions, sexually harassed men (or women) dressed as their favorite character, demanded voice actors sign their favorite R18 yaoi pictures, and drew all sorts of mpreg art.
While the days of Yaoi Paddles have diminished, now instead of mpreg, your favourite male character is Trans, will still give birth to that Shipping Baby, and any fanart associated with them will be drawn as ugly as possible and with as many pride flags and "headcanons" decorating their fat, hairy, stretch-marked body as possible. Or, for the artistically-retarded, they'll have hundreds of fanfics under their belt with at least one being ABO - meaning they make one have a dog penis and they go into heat to get pregnant for their uwu alpha male.

No, I'm not making this up. Fangirls are just as horrifically disgusting as men and they even have their own discord servers where they revel in who can come up with the most degenerate, horrible fetish to inflict upon their "favourite" male characters. It may not be inflation, piss & scat, but gore, forced birthing, and other shit is rampant. And if you say that stuff is sick... they'll scream at you about Kinkshaming and Purity Police. There is no help for the Fujoshi. Even if they're not rampant consoomers, they still are filthy fucking freaks.

So yeah, this guy bought sealed duplicate copies of a dozen games he doesn't even enjoy and received 1142 upvotes and a Reddit Gold™ for it.

So, instead of selling them and getting some money back, they're keeping them for.... reddit karma? I don't get the idea of keeping games you don't like, especially if its a physical copy which someone else would probably like to buy.

Expensive, crappy gamer juice using words like "tummy" in its marketing. You would think it was satire...

Weddings in total had been perverted into consumer extravaganza a long time ago. Consume a dress that will be worn only once. Consume a cake with ridiculous amounts of fondant. Consume a gaudy oversized ring. Take a loan to rent a restaurant for a day and to fund a honeymoon trip. Start married life with negative funds and pray there will be no divorce in a few years that will make it all look like a giant waste of money.
I know people here may lean to atheistic territory but you know what, if I was the pope, I would immediately kill off Matrimony. Everything about that "sacrament" is pure horseshit that Jesus would be rolling in the clouds after seeing what happened to it.

Considering what it has become, one-time extravaganzas, with less-than-respectful people who will probably divorce at a moment's notice, you can see that even if you are Christian or not, weddings should be removed and no one would miss it.

I was looking up shit related to 3DS piracy and came across this redditor on /r/3ds:

If you aren't aware, each Pokemon game comes in 2 versions that only differ by a few exclusive pokemons to encourage trading, so he essentially bought the same game (that he won't play since he wants it sealed) twice multiple times.
The guy then said that he hasn't enjoyed a Pokemon game since Platinum.

I was gonna say "Big woop" but they're factory seal. I would like to remind people that HeartGold and SoulSilver are £50 cartridge only.

This is why I only play Pokemon hax that mod in all of the Pokemon for a generation, because nigga I don't want to play 2 games back to back unless it has an incredibly riveting story and gameplay, which Pokemon doesn't.

Re yaoi paddles, here's an informative video on them. Tranny Phil has one.

tl;dw don't randomly attack people at conventions, you could actually break their tailbones

Do you think being a bad spouse is a new thing? The levels of consoomerism available to normal people is, but I don't think that generally encourages good people to be bad spouses.

Oh wow, an "epic reusable glass bottle." As opposed to all those other glass bottle with twist tops that self destruct after you use them? Is this marketed to retards? Not to mention that this bottle isn't really recyclable because it is a unique bottle shape.

and on that same note:
"How the Rich do Disney"

I just finished watching this, and it sort of fucked me up. This girl admitted she paid these exorbitant prices for... a day of eating? How can people justify wasting this type of money? Spending up to $15,000 to eat and get valet parking is actual lunacy.

Even if you can easily afford it, I again question why. Personal chef's for an evening have to be way cheaper unless you go for some celebrity chef, and even though there's 12 spots and your friends can split the bill, it's still over $1,000 for a meal. Never in my fucking life would I ever pay that much money for a single dining experience. And you know this isn't really marketed for the "rich" because I doubt rich people would even waste their time going to Disneyland where they'd be forced to see Common Folk. This really seems tailored to get those hardcore Disney fanatics to blow their money for a chance of being treated "richly".

Which is just... sad. (:_(

They do it because it gives them the illusion of having bought a unique experience. Big brands took the “don’t buy things, buy experiences” philosophy and shoved it up our asses, basically. Disney just happens to be obscenely good at this.

I think they mean "Recyclable" as in "You, yourself, can use it for something else" and not "This can be recycled like an aluminum can."
Also Voss bottles >>>>>> Other glass bottles. Yes, you're paying like $5 for water, but what you're actually doing is buying a 200ml water bottle for $5.
She also owns a replica Sleeping Beauty book as a journal.

And if you're wondering why she's not actually writing in it. It's because it costs $60.

I'm starting to understand something, and I've been learning it from you guys.
Namely, there is a split between "real wealth" and this weird "wealthy" psuedo-culture that we see here.
It isn't a matter of the whole "Perceived wealthy and powerful vs. truly wealthy and powerful" (see image below) but something that happens at the lower tiers where more people reside.
1.PNG
To those of you who understand it better than I do, please correct me, but here's my current understanding.
In one category, you have the people who live in paid-off homes and can go on vacations where they don't have to pay for a place to stay. Stuff like that.
Then there's the category of people who spend money on the things in the "How the rich do Disney" video. I used to think those people were all over-leveraged or living on the edge, but I was wrong, wasn't I? This is more of a priorities thing.
E.g. If I gave each one $7000...
That's 2 shares of GOOG + some partial shares
1.PNG

or if you want to buy precious metal. That's ~4oz of gold
3.PNG

or this piece of land
3.PNG
But you can't show off a stock to your friends on social media, and gold just sits around in a lockbox or vault, and that piece of land is in bumfuck North Dakota.
It could also buy 1 Cartier love bracelet
2.PNG

or 1 trip to Disney's Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser™ ®©$$$ with some spending money
1.PNG

or this shit
or ~400 Funkos if you buy most of them retail and splurge on a few expensive ones.
I guess what I'm getting at then, is that this is something to do with comfort and enjoyment. Right? It's not a misunderstanding of "How to be wealthy" or people with money being tricked out of their money by Disney or whatever, it's that Disney is actually right. They really are providing something to meet demand.

They’re absolutely providing enjoyment and comfort and they are indeed providing something to meet demand. But this issue has many, many layers.

Was this demand organic or artificially created?
Why is “mediocre best” what is being demanded and not actual “best best”?
Why people are investing so much in fake expenses and not in real one (that would cost them basically the same)?
What are the social and psychological ramifications of buying surrogates of the real thing?

This is all exactly the same things I want to know, and why this thread in particular is so fascinating. I really want to learn more about what's happening in their heads, and what factors are at play here.

one of the first things she says in that video is how "its still doable" or something like that and how "YOU can still get the VIP treatment" . I am thinking this is not being advertised for the truly wealthy but for the moderately affluent middle class who still see this as expensive for their income but "affordable" if they juuust save some more or go into debt for it. Its being sold more from an insidious aspirational angle.
