The rich dont pay ANY taxes, these rules have zero effect on the actually rich people and groups, it's just them eliminating any future potential rivals. Saudi princes and soros are not going to be affected by taxes on american citizens. Google and facebook arent going to pay their taxes anywhere, ever in any meaningful way

Among the arguments in the petition is that the COLA increases are not suitable enough for seniors living on a fixed income with the 5% inflation surge experienced over the past 13 months. Educated does not equal "smart." One could make the argument that it actually blinds people to what's going on because they are "experts" who definitely, totally understand what is happening.
Anyway, I've always thought the 2008 recession never resolved properly. The damage and the causes for that damage were still there, the powers that be just papered over it and pretended it wasn't there. All the growth in the past 10 years is fake. We have shrinking populations which means our economy has to shrink along with it since demand is linked up like that.
Problem is the economy is like a chain gang running from the cops. As long as everyone is able to keep pace then you don't have any problems.
And then came COVID. It knocked everyone down and the guys that were barely keeping up are out of breath.
The way I'm reading the situation is that we had an artificially overheating economy that was only running because of its own momentum. Dems freaked out over Orange Man Bad and destroyed that momentum. Now they are struggling to get any kind of movement because their base is still pants shittingly afraid of COVID.
That's why I think it is incompetence. Because really, what part of this plan seems sane?
