"Current year" terms that piss you off

The term died the moment it was "coined", but "missing white woman syndrome." Yet another word used to demonize whitey and it doesn't even make sense. What makes it a "syndrome"? A less retarded word for it would be "missing white woman phenomenon".

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results."
Nigga that's called practice. Don't get your proverbs from fucking video games.
I mean, I heard it long before that game came out, but it's still stupid.

The definition of insanity is being incapable of moral decision.

This may not be exactly current year but it's a term that pisses me off. Like so many of these terms, I can't completely figure out what bothers me about this one:

"Human" or "human being"

People like to use this term in a very specific yet still difficult to define context. It's always something sentimental or regarding a person's total identity like "You are such an incredible human." or "One of my favorite humans." Why are you talking like an alien? Why can you not just say person? Why do you think saying human somehow makes your statement more profound? "Human being" has all this with the added superfluousness of "being" to make it sound just a bit more like cosmic woo bullshit. Clearly if someone is a human they are also a "being".

Practice does make perfect, but that saying is more about when you continue a failed strategy after multiple demonstrations of its failure. Saying to yourself “This may not have worked the last 9 times I did it, but doing the same thing the same way for a 10th time will be different” is something you would expect out of a madman, not someone seeking improvement.

I hate those websites names that have weird cutesy names that end in y or ly.
Rezzy
Calendly
Appointy
Mendeley
Grammarly
Musicly

Idk why it drives me crazy but it does. I hate that I've come across a lot of these through the academic intuition as well.
somehow musicly became more insuffferable sounding when they rebranded to "tiktok"

"Capitalism" in how it's described as though it causes every single modern problem despite the issues stemming from Corporatism. I hate how this word is perverted a lot to describe a boogeyman.
That is because when the left says "capatialism" they mean "the current system as it is now" which many people criticize including self-proclaimed capitalists. They're implying that laissez-faire capitalism inevitably turns to corporatism. It's a deeper question which Mike Munger said it best "capitalism in a democracy is unsustainable".

My beef is "neoliberal"/"neoliberalism" which is an umbrella-term for all free market leaning types and is only used by the left. Makes it hard to figure out what exactly they have a problem with. It's like they dunk on a random republican and think they defeated Hayek. Made more confusing when the right uses it to refer to establishment democrats.

"Trans"-anything
"Woman's penis"
"Chest feeding"
"Menstruating people"
Geez what did the Trans-Siberian Orchestra ever do to you?

And to contribute, latinx. I know A LOT of people on here have already said this one but I've been seeing it way more since Hispanic heritage month and it's pretty much only said by "how do you do fellow latinx" corporations. Tons of Latin Americans have been saying they hate the term or that it doesn't work with their language but American weirdos still keep trying to make it happen :(
